Hi, i am going to my country morocco, 2 months ago i booked the flight thru Aerlingus. com the airline website, and i was not able to book the flight from arizona to morocco, i have to book 2 separate tickets, one from arizona to dublin and then other from dublin to morocco. Couple weeks ago they call me saying that the flight that i was suppose to take from dublin to the US on Feb 14 is canceled and there will be a flight on Feb 15th, my flight from morocco to dublin is on Feb 13, so now i have to stay in dublin for 2 days or almost as it is about 38 hours . my question is, do i need visa to stay in the airport for that period, am not planning to get a hotel, as i checked and it was about 100 dollars, so i planned to just deal with it and stay in the airport. do i need a visa for that? although i dont want to leave the airport?

Yes you can sleep at the airport if you want. US citizens do not need to have a visa to go to morocco and you can get one for 90 days. You get a free visa.... so I don't know why you'd want to hang around the airport (it's warm and fuzzy though, and you have access to food). Although I do understand that once you step outside into dublin, you can't check back into the airport until it's near the time you are about to depart.

You sincerely need a way to track your luggage however if you're taking different airlines. You might even have to pick up your luggage in dublin to carry it over to go dublin to morocco if they didn't arrange it for you.

am not a us citizen , i have a green card though, from whole trip is by aerlingus, from their website like i said, i had to book from the US to dublin alone, and then from dublin to morocco,i am affraid that once i get my luggage , i wont be able to get in the airport,so i will be stuck. Although it's same airline, but separate flight, i have to get my luggage in dublin, they wont go directly to morocco. I really appreciate your reply by the way, thank you.

I don't know why you said US citizen, the person CLEARLY stated "MY COUNTRY MOROCCO".

There is no such thing as a "free visa". There IS the visa waiver program (VWP) and this MUST be REGISTERED for using ESTA.

This is the visa requirement info page: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categori...ntering-ireland And this is the schedule that lists what countries DO need, and which do not: http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/SI657of2006...SI657of2006.pdf

I think you'd be better off going and talking to a travel agent and asking their advice. I also agree that you will probably need to collect your bags and sit with them while you wait. Honestly it's a bit confusing because I've never stayed that long during flights and technically you're not in transit because you don't have a "connecting" flight, it's a flight out, but not connecting so you are "visiting Dublin" for the day. For that reason i think you will need a visa, but whether you qualify for the VWP I don't know.

Good luck!

**Edit. I started this before I saw the OP's replies re not being a US citizen but I'll leave my comments anyway

Dublin airport closes overnight, or at least did as of last year, so you won't be able to stay. There are cheap YMCA/ hostels in the city center of Dublin which will only cost you 30 dollars or so, maybe less in the off-season. A bus to the city center will be a couple of dollars. Your problem will be a visa: Ireland doesn't care you are a greencard holder, they are about your citizenship, and as a Moroccan, you will need a visa. Get on to the Irish embassy in Washington- or Morocco if you are there now- asap and ask about how to get a visa, I believe you should be able to get a transit visa valid 48 hours, but I am not sure about that.
