Hey everyone!

I have 2 questions for you!

1-I'm petitioning for my husband and so I'm the primary sponsor on form I-864, but I'm currently unemployed and when I did work it was in 2007/2008 for 8 months. My question is do I still provide a federal income tax return/IRS transcript for the time I worked even though that amount of money is not going to be used for sponsoring my husband? I have a joint co-sponsor.

2-The I-864 document checklist says that if we're using the income of someone in our household then we have to send in 'Proof of their residency in your household and relationship to you if they are not the intending immigrants or are not listed as dependents on your Federal income tax return for the most recent tax year.' My question is what do I send in as proof? Since the joint sponsor is my father and technically I'm in his household and not the other way around. Does the fact that I'm his dependent suffice? I'm a bit confused because I'm the sponsor but then I'm in his house so not sure if being in his list of dependents is enough as proof of relationship. Please help!

Thanks so much!

1. yes, since that's the only thing you have as of now. it won't help that you're unemployed, but you have other options like including assets if you have any

2. proof of residency in your household would be bills, contracts showing that your father lives in the same household and other documents showing his actual address.

being the primary sponsor in your case is technical because you're married to the intending immigrant, ideally you should also be the primary financial sponsor but since uscis knows that problems like unemployment sometimes occur, you are allowed to get other financial sponsors
