We went to the CS, and they said they do K1's all the time, and said we only needed to transcribe the vaccine records, they did that signed the form, put in a sealed envelope, gave us a copy, requested $25. I ask about doing another exam, and they said the really felt it was not necessary. So I hope it works, if not i may get the senator or other involved.

Guys, thank you very much for the response!

I already had my I-693 form transcribed, the civil surgeon is cool and honest,

he knows what he is doing and NOT a rip off!

He is a civil surgeon from Hickory,NC.

I went there prepared, with a copies of vaccination updates from USCIS website, copies of form,

and a copy of I-693 Instruction and I highlighted the K1 case

Though I never had a chance to show it because the doctor have a copies of them too, lol.

Anyways better be prepared and ready, right?

---- Now that the RFE is sent back to USCIS, what is next? Hopefully no more RFE

---- am I going to have an AOS interview?

---- when am I going EAD and AP? AOS approval?

Am just curious...no idea at all what is going on in here lollol.

I am just going with the flow and trying to do my assignment with the best of my knowledge.

I hope you have a good day and God bless us all!

Hello guys!

Ok, I am under K1 visa when i entered the US, we filed AOS last Nov.2009, we took a risk by sending my DS-3025 form instead of I-693 and because of that we got an RFE(!) last Dec.2009

We only 87 days to comply with the missing documents,so now we are gathering informations regarding of this thing.

I have few questions

1. I had my medical exam back in the Philippines last April 28,2009

if i understood it correct,i do not have to repeat my medical exam because the exam i had back

in the Philippines is still valid, am i right?

2. When i went to have my medical exam back in Phils.,the doctor gave me 2 shots of vaccines.

THEN i was told to have another shots of each when i get here in the US but i was not told when.

(1.HPV and 2.Tdap)

I also learned that HPV is no more required, so i only need to take care of is Tdap if i have to,my concern is do you

think the surgeon is the one who will give me the shots or do we need to get it somewhere else?

I am on my husband's med.insurance, but the name he put in there is under my married name, now i do not an ID

under my married name,is a copy of marriage contract will cover?

2. I checked the surgeon locator at the USCIS and the nearest surgeon we found is the one from Hickory NC.

Does anyone of you went to this doctor? or knows how much does he charge?

or how much does your surgeon charged you for the transcription?

i am just collecting info so to have an idea how much the rate they usually charges.

I hope you guys can help me by providing informations and sharing your experiences.

Thanks and have a good day.

John and Louella

I'm in a hurry this second but I saw your post and wanted to respond really quick. We got the RFE too but I just sent the medical vaccination supplement again with a letter and a copy of the instructions page where I highlighted that section where it says that the I-693 isn't required for K-1s who had a medical a year ago, etc. We've got the green card, so I guess it worked :-) Send me a message if you need anything :-)

We met in October 2007 and our immigration journey started in July 2008 when we filed for the I-129F Fiance Visa petition.

We received a RFE, and even thought we sent the vaccination worksheet from the Medical examination. The REF is asking for a "complete" new medical examination. It says "you have indicated that you last entered the US as a K or V non-immigrant. Please submit a properly completed and signed copy of the medical exam, conducted overseas on form DS-2053, if you do not have you must complete a I-693. Well it seems funny that they know we had to have had atleast the medical exam, to be approved in the interview, and the standard procedure is they send those documents directly to the Embassy, so a very good chance 100% we do not have the orignal.

What a rip off, as to fight it seems like a risk not worth taking, at best it could delay the approval process :wacko::wacko::wacko:

Hi! I also received the same RFE as you had. What did you do? Did you repeat the physical exam or just the vaccination portion of I-693? I plan to to do only the vaccination portion only but I realized that I was required to do have "completed" copy of I-693.

I also received the exact letter yesterday! I already submitted the I-693 (in a sealed envelope) in the packet that I sent them, and yet they're still requesting for it. What's going on???

No one from Morocco gets an original as far as I know, so I'm assuming that it's the same across other countries as well. We got a copy of the DS form from the doctor. We had to submit copies of it to USCIS twice, but it wasn't a big fight...just a highlighted instruction page telling them to read directions more carefully before sending RFEs out...
