RFE is Request for Evidence. They send one to you whenever they need something. Say you forgot to supply a form, or sign something, or send a document.

IMBRA is International Marriage Broker Act. It's a law that went into effect after March 6. Basically, they want to determine whether the petitioner and the beneficiary met through a marriage broker and whether the petitioner has commited any crimes (listed on the form or IMBRA RFE for older forms).

I guess you used the forms with these questions already (because you filed in July, when the new I129f form was ready), so it seems strange that you wouldn't know about it.

Your fiance *can* go stay with you, but she'll have to show evidence of strong ties to her country, such as pay stubs, lease agreement, some document proving that she's got property, a steady job. So... she might be denied entry if she fails to provide such evidence.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

RFE is Request for Evidence (you will get one if they require any additional information from you).

IMBRA is International Marriage Brokers Act. You will get an RFE with a form to fill out and return to USCIS.

If your fiance wants to come and visit you, she may be asked for proof of ties to her home country, such as her most recent pay stubs and a mortgage/lease document, so they will be convinced she will return after her "visit".

Congrats on the NOA1.

No problem. It's weird, though. If you filed in July, the form you used should already contain those questions, unless you used an older version that didn't.

Also, IMBRA is about multiple K petitions.

Take a look at this form and check if this is the one you've sent: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/for...iles/I-129F.pdf

You'll also find the info about IMBRA there.

There was no extra 'paperwork' to send about meeting (or not meeting) through a marriage broker. There is simply a section about it on the new I-129f form itself.

Maybe he used an older version of the form, since he's asking... Otherwise he would have seen it before, I guess.

Getting NOA2. Then the case is sent to NVC and from there, to the foreign consulate.

NOA2 is the notice that you get when your case's approved.

Pay stubs and the like will only be needed when the case gets to the foreign consulate.
