Hello All

I will be filing a I-130 for my wife who is in India

I have question about my wife name

As you know, wife name is change after marriage.

For Eg:

Before Marriage Name is FirstName FatherName LastName

After Marriage Name becomes - FirstName HusbandName HusbandsLastName

After marriage middle name and last name is change

Not sure which name I should put in Form 130.

I mean should I put name which was before marriage or after marriage.

Her Passport has old name which is before marriage

In that case fill in the forms with the name that will be in her passport; the name she will be using. I changed to my married name after we submiited our I-130 application but I made sure all my documents had been changed by the time we were at the NOA2 / NVC stage.

If she is going to change her name then I'd do it in her married name. Her green card will be in the name in her passport, that's why I asked. Have her get her passport changed before you get to the NVC, as they want a copy of the biographical page.

The simple answer is that you always use the current legal name. If that doesn't match the passport, change the name in the passport so it IS the current legal name.

But marriage certificate has old name.

So is it ok Marriage certificate with old name and passport with new name ?

Marriage certificates typically show who married whom, so Jones and Smith marry to become the Smiths.
