I would wait until you get your biometrics done to get your passport updated with your married name (in case if you get called for biometrics and your passport has not arrived yet)....Anyway if you need to travel due to an emergency before you get your passport updated, you could always take your marriage certificate with you to show them in case you are questioned during your travels.

You never need to change your passport. It's entirely up to you BUT you would need to carry your marriage certificate to explain why it's different. HOWEVER, your tickets MUST match the name in your passport. Some people HAVE had trouble when booking in their married name when their passport is different, others only needed to show their marriage licence. Typically it's not accepted if it's different.

I personally believe changing it makes sense so you never have to worry about it. This way all your stuff matches. Your GC, your passport, your drivers licence. however it's not super urgent and as stated above wait until after you have your GC. If you need to use the AP document it will come in your married name which is why you will need a copy of your marriage licence as evidence that that's "you".

Good luck :D
