so i wasn't worried about this really, i figured a lease agreement from davids parents would be good enough, since it's just to show proof of my permanent address once i'mbin the usa, however i'm wondering what you all brought or are bringing to the interview for this?

K1 visa applicants don't need to show proof of domicile. It's a requirement of the I-864, and K1s only need to provide the I-134, which doesn't ask for proof of domicile, but will show his income etc.

No need to worry about this.

For the K1 don't forget to bring a new letter of intent, proof of your relationship (photos, plane tickets), all of the I-134 information with pay stubs, W2 etc. and the $131 fee... your long form birth certificate (with a copy) and a copy of your fiance's passport picture page. I might be forgetting a couple of things, but those are the major things to worry about.

Kimbear is the Canadian right? I don't think her(?) fiance needs a copy of his passport picture...Matthew didn't at the interview. The only time he needed his passport was to get in with security.

As stated above, no need for "proof of domicile" for K1 applicants.

Yes, you're right. The Canadian needs a copy of their passport page, not the American! Good catch.

*Bump so I dont look like a bonehead at the interview by presenting said proof of Domicile.

Or even worse we get in trouble for not having it

We honestly didn't get asked for domicile.

I think the affidavit of support was enough for them to prove it.

I did bring paystubs and was never asked for them though.

The letter that's sent is just a generic letter and I'm pretty sure you only bring what's applies to you.

Proof of domicile doesn't, because your fiance(e) petitioned from the US. It only applies to those CR1/IR1/Other visas that do Direct Consular Filing.

I think you're right.

If you're fiance has a job and youa re providing them with an employment letter and paystubs, then that's domicile right there. Probably the best domicile you can provide.

I don't recall any K1 posting that they were ever actually asked for proof of domicile for the U.S. citizen.

Like Sapphire said, the employment letters, etc will be proof itself. This is more of an issue for the spousal visas.
