Arabella's fiance had a note added to his file that stated he should be allowed to cross without activating his visa so that he could visit her over the holidays without moving yet. This was done by the Deputy Consul, I believe - the top guy at Montreal.

But realize, no matter what you are told at the interview, it is always up to the border patrol.

In some ways it seems like a lot less stress just to decide that he won't come visit me in the U.S. until he moves here. It will likely be 2 months after the interview that he plans to move to the U.S. No big "holiday" to really count on during May and June.

Congrats on the approval! Hope all goes well during today's interviews.

As an update, we decided to play it safe. Essentially it's a week, and we've been at this a long time - our I-129 peition was filed last May. There is virtually nothing that is worth the risk of screwing it up. So he is headed back to Ontario when I head back to NY for work.

Our interview is Friday, and we're spending the weekend. We booked him a Via Rail pass for much cheaper than it costs to take Amtrak about the same distance. Hopefully his visa will come in the mail that week. If it does, he will be moving on Saturday, April 3.

May 7, 2009 - 129F submitted

April 6, 2010 - Visa Delivered/POE (Peace Bridge)

April 23, 2010 - Civil Ceremony

May 1, 2010 - AOS/EAD Application submitted

July 12, 2010 - EAD Approved (Card Production Email #1 at 4:02 pm)

July 26, 2010 - EAD RECEIVED

August 5, 2010 - GREEN CARD APPROVED!!

August 21, 2010 - Green card arrives

November 13, 2010 - Catholic ceremony

July 2, 2012 - ROC submitted to VSC

August 21, 2012 - Biometrics

February 27, 2013 - ROC Approved

Only one more step to go!
