I live now in Allen County, Indiana... However, I haven't changed my driver's license yet and we want to get married in my home Church in Michigan. From what I am reading on the websites I can't take the Indiana license to Michigan and vice versa? If so, this will be really inconvenient. Anyone have any information on this? Maybe i'm reading wrong?

Indiana licenses are good ONLY for marriages performed in Indiana... If you want to get married in Michigan, then go to the courthouse in the county in Michigan where you want to marry and apply for one

Thats another problem. It says on the Wayne County (MI) website that "Only Wayne County Residents can apply here"

So am I pretty much screwed? Technically I haven't changed any of my ID's or licenses so I have a Michigan driver's license. Do you think i should attempt it?

Call the clerk of the circuit court for the county where you want to get married, I've never heard of a county limiting marriage licenses to residents only.

Here is a non government link discussing this topic... http://marriage.about.com/cs/marriagelicenses/p/michigan.htm

Validate the information with the local county,,, but, in short.

Looks like non-residents can get a Michican Marriage license (3 day waiting period) proper documentation... And a small fee.

Good Luck,

So she doesn't need SSN or state ID ? If so, that would be really convenient. Indiana makes you wait 10+ days for ID. If i am reading right. I expect someone has experience with this.

The Wayne county website is a bit unclear.... While it does say "Only Wayne County residents can apply here".. it does go on to say if BOTH are non-residents of Michigan then you apply at the courthouse of the county you are to be married.... If you are getting married in Wayne county then call them and explain... I bet they will help you

According to the website, all you must do is indicate to the clerk at the time of application that one person does NOT have a SSN
