Hello Everyone,

I am in quite a dilemma. My husband and I are sincerely in love and I don't know what I would do if I didn't have him. We have been living to together the entire time he has in the US and have proof. I am getting ready to file for ROC and I am bit concerned because we have not told anyone about our marriage and we really don't have anyone to get signed statements from verifying our marriage. We will be filing ROC in April because his GC expires July 5, 2010. So far I have documentation containing:

Joint bank accounts.

Beneficiary of both life insurances. (his and mines...opposite)

Joint tax return in 2008 and 2009

Financial Aid information with both of our names on there

Utility bills with same address for the entire time

Joint Car Insurance

2 accounts of Travel documentation

Joint Medical/Dental insurance information

Copies of Drivers license

Joint Credit Cards

Copies of his pay stubs with his address

Pictures of each other and family from both our graduations

The house that we live in in my name because I sat at the settlement table with my mother and my husband and my moms would not go for me putting my *boyfriend* on the deed.

Again, we are very much in love and living together (planning our future together) but we didn't tell anyone about our marriage because we were very young at the time we decided to get married and just didn't want to face the stereotypes. We also still want to have our very special wedding day. I"m sure my family has an incline but that's it. I say all of that to say how important is including the affidavit? Should I be worried with the evidence that I am including or should I just find a way to get those affidavits? I mean we would be willing to tell our families about our marriage but again we plan on having a very special wedding and including our family then.

Helpful comments only please. I feel bad enough as it is.

Thank you

Revised copy...it wouldn't allow me to edit

Hello Everyone,

The house that we live is in my name because I sat at the settlement table with my mother and my husband and my moms would not go for me putting my *boyfriend* (in her eyes) on the deed.

Again, we are very much in love and living together (planning our future together) but we didn't tell anyone about our marriage because we were very young at the time we decided to get married and just didn't want to face the stereotypes. I received so much slack for even dealing with someone for having a long distance relationship with someone from Jamaica (yes my family is also Jamaican). We also still want to have our very special wedding day. I"m sure my family has some idea but no one has said anything. I say all of that to say how important is including the affidavit? Should I be worried with the evidence that I am including or should I just find a way to get those affidavits? I mean we would be willing to tell our families about our marriage but again we plan on having a very special wedding and including our family then.

From what you say your lives are comingled. Your list of documents / evidence looks good. Affidavits aren't required.

Your story is your story. You can't change it, just tell it honestly if you are interviewed. I'm sure you aren't the first couple to keep the news a secret from the family.

Best of luck.

Thanks again!

your evidence looks good. Send it and see what happens. Affidavits are not necessary. Worst case is you get called for an interview, and when you go, the officer will be able to see that your marriage is in good faith.

I think you'll be fine, you have rgeat documentation, exactly what they are looking for.

You may want to consider going public and making everything transparent within your familys. You're adults now, you've already been married 2 years and it's on one else's darn business. You shouldn't have to hide the most important thing in your life.

That's just my opinion though, I'm probably old enough to be your mother :) I would want to know about my daughter being married, even if she was young, then I could support her emotionally.

I agrea with everyone here your effidence looks fine :)

also agrea with udella yes you must be young but you must have been old enough to get married without parental consent ,

so that makes you an adult I feel sorry that you feel the need to hide your happyness from your family ,

since you have been already married for 2 years and your family still cant see that you are truely happy

they might never see or accept your decitions in life ,

and since you are ( yes a young ) adult

the family should be there for emotional suport

but they should not be able to tell you how you should be living your life in the future ,

no one has the right to guide a persons happyness other then the person him self ,

You have more than enough documentation for the I-751. Nothing to worry about.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Really you have nothing to worry about at all.You have more than enough documents to prove your marriage and life together.Believe I went throught 2 years to get my griflfriend a visa from china to the USA.It was not really hard and China is a hard counrty to get a visa from. But because of the documents she had and she put everything in big yellow envelops and marked them clearly with a black marker so the interveiwer could see what she had. They only asked her maybe 5 questions because they saw she came well prepared. So oh please do not worry I will even go as far as saying your interveiw may last 10 minutes and you will have what you need...Now go with the feeling of knowing you will get your way ...

Take care

..P.S. even bet a steak dinner on it..

Your documentation looks good. Affidavits are not necessary if the rest of your documentation is complete - and it is. We didn't send any affidavits either. Good luck!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
