Hello everyone and fellow "kabayans,"

Can you recommend some companies that you used to ship personal items from RP to the USA? I have some books that I want to bring here. I was told that it will cost a thousand pesos for every kilo if I use the Phil. post office so I'm wondering if there's a better way to send it. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks! :)

I doubt you'll find an option cheaper that the Post Office, books are heavy items.

We've always used DHL for anything that wouldn't fit in an envelope but I'd bet your package would be costly. Might want to consider the expense of just replacing the books once you get here vs the cost of shipping them.

You can get the cheapest rate of shipping your heavy books from PI to US thru the Post Office Surface Mail Service. It worked on me. I sent around 10 pcs of thick nursing books here in US before I departed PI. My books arrived safely here in US after 3-4 weeks and I received the package personally.

I used to send stuff for my fiance during special occasions (Cebu to Seattle). I used TNT and so far there were no problems. But if you will send books, might as well use the postal service.

yeah. i suggest you use the postal service. i used it a couple of times to send some packages to my friends. it only costs 687 per kilo and 400+ for succeeding kilos. i don't remember the exact price. but they received it with no problems in 2 weeks more or less. :) hope that helps!

Why can't you use LBC or Cargo Plus ...look on internet for contact numbers in PI. I heard Cargo Plus was the best option for sending heavy items...
