Hi people!! Happy Valentine's weekend!

I'm 24 and so my husband. He is turning 25 in April though. I don't really think they will give us a hard time.... it's our decision and both of my parents and his approve our relationship and stuff, (also his dad is our co-sponsor).

About the interview, I had only one in my life when I applied for J1. Everything went smooth but I was really afraid. Maybe this time things will work out great. People in Brazil say that the consuls are very polite and professionals in the US citizen part of the consulate. My husband will attend the interview with me, so hopefully I won't feel so scared.

Good luck to all of us! I can't wait to have my case number!!! I think I read so many times that the NVC stage was the fastest, that I got too excited thinking it would be faster than it is.

Haha I could see the Immigration Officer going all parental on me...

"Now, Mike, you are quite young. Are you sure you want to go through with this?"

"You don't know my life, SON!"

I'm not so worried about the consulate being condescending, but my husband is known to get hot-headed fairly quick, just as I am the opposite and have a tendency to "talk" it out. So we compliment each other, that is why I am going!!!!

Plus I have the "mother" tone down really well!!!

I have a question. Both my husband and I are 23. Which is young, I suppose. Do you think they'd give us a hard time about getting married at a young age?

No, it's all about having a legitimate relationship, as well, if you can rationalize your marriage to anyone who inquires then you have no problem. If you at a loss for why you married 'young' then you're in trouble. I also noticed that people tend to be getting married younger nowadays, and I'm sure USCIS see's that and it's not terrible at all. And like AUS2USA said, tons of people at 19 have been approved, Waleed's Girl being the most recent. :)
