All I know if he screws up the interview he won't have to die because I will have already killed him!!!! ; )

I think the key, as with any stressful situation, is to THINK before you speak. DON'T rush, even take a breath before answering. You just pray that your sincerity comes across and that we are NOT BS-ers....which I'm sure it will. Honesty and sincerity go a long way in these interviews I THINK : ) My humble 2 cents. Every embassy is different though, so I'm sure your portal page is invaluable. Thank God it's not Morocco, what a nightmare! Luckily Albania SEEMS to be normal.....you just hope you don't get someone who's dog just died, spilled coffee on her laptop and is going through a breakup all the day of your interview. : (

LMAO! same thing i told my husband i was like

"There your interview is march 17th at 8:30am. I did EVERYTHING. you better not screw this last bit up, or ill kill you." lol

So funny

I strongly suggest that the USCitizen prepare an 'evolution of relationship' letter, and the foreign spouse present it on Interview Day. Have it notarized, either in the USA or at the Embassy during American Citizen Services appointment.

When my wife and I were working on cruise ships, we visited Dominica quite regularly! I remember swimming through the fresh water cave to a waterfall where pirates of the caribb was filmed. I love Dominica!

I've heard of the NVC doing that...basically taking care of all the extra name check..etc... that the MENA countries start at the consulate level....Which is why it takes us so darn long to get the visas!!:angry:

As far as wedding and reception photos, again, it's something big in the MENA countries because usually the wedding is a small party, or only a few attend, either religious or civil, BUT the party afterwards is fairly big, to include all relatives and friends.

I know one thing they also ask about is whether or not the MENA SO has told their family about their spouses. Some families are against marriages between muslim and nonmuslim religions. So having the photos of the party showing friends and family attending helps quench that.

OK GUYS

THIS IS PERSONAL AND I NEED DIFFERENT OPINNIONS..

As per my signature if you read my history with my husband you will know that I have met him more than 9 years ago and started a relation ship in 2004 and married in 2009...the thing is that we did not celebrate a marriage like a party we only went to the civil office with the 2 witnesses ..why we do this?? 1st thing I am groups & weddings coordinator and really I am tired of wedding..2nd thing I have more than 200 persons wich includes family and friends I am little bit popular because I came of a family of musicians and politicians in dominican republic so I got lots of friends one example between my mother and father I have 18 uncles and aunts and more than 50 cousins, and really I dont have the money to spend to have a party and fee that amount of person and I am not including the family of my husband in that 200 presons..if I have a wedding party I will love to see all the family and friends of my husband and unfortunetaly not all of them will be available to come to dominican republic and I dont have the money to provided flight tickets and hotels for all of them..

so we did not do this but I was thinking that i will died if I dont get approval in an interview because of this..

so I was thinking that I should do something small really I can do a wedding for 80 persons without paying anything except the food because I can have the flowers, mucis, etc free because of my job..but then I realize wont be enough proof the times that my husband has come to Dominican Republic.??? he has come to Dominican republic 26 times after we start dating.. is a HUGEEEE NUMBER .. I think...plus that I live with him for 5 month. and the 1000 pictures and emails that we have...

so I really like your opinnion for this..should I do something in the next month only for pictures of the wedding??

love u all

As a wedding coordinator you know that a big wedding does not mean a good marriage... The wedding is a personal choice and if you chose to do a small gathering, that is perfectly fine ... You seem to have extensive documentation and proof of bonifide marriage... Just present what you have, go over questions and you should be fine...

When my wife and I were working on cruise ships, we visited Dominica quite regularly! I remember swimming through the fresh water cave to a waterfall where pirates of the caribb was filmed. I love Dominica!

Hey, what did ya do onboard??? What line? Just curious as my hubby just left Carnival after 14 years... I tried one contract and hated it!!!

I was a fitness director, she is a singer.

We were on board Holland-America, the "beautiful and elegant" MS Maasdam... right.,..

14 years. Wow. 8 months was enough for me. But I was working with 70+year olds 12 hours a day 6 days a week. Not the most exciting gig for a personal trainer hahaha. I will gladly go back on as husband on board with my wife if she chooses to do another contract :)

Yes, I can imaging with HA that the age thing would be really aggrivating! Mine was 1st Engineer and Staff Chief... I tried one contract as karaoke host and hated it! Being a professional passenger (aka, officers wife) was not bad, but I was really BORED!!! It was fun the first say 5 years together, the last 4 going onboard was getting to be torture! We had been on 17 of Carnivals ships... Got to see a lot of nice places and I met some really great people from all over the world, the Crew bar is like the UN with LOTS of booze... lol....

This year was the first New Years not onboard in like 6 years for us! I do miss the crew parties!

David--Sorry, mate. They sometimes do additional security/name checks. This can happen at any part of the process--CIS, NVC, consulate. It seems to be normal. But can take about 2 weeks to 2 months. Hang in there and hopefully, it's a short one. I'm actually quite certain we were in AP at USCIS for about a month because one operator distinctly said there's a little bit of "Administrative Processing" left to be done in your case. At that point I didn't think too much about it, just thought she meant some office paperwork but later, I was like, "wait, AP, AP, where have I heard that before?"

Congratulations to those who got there emails! w00t. You're on your way.

Mrswife--We haven't decided if my husband will be attending the interview or not. We'll come to a decision when we have the actual interview date in hand. Depending on whether he can take time off from work. I don't know why I'm this scared though, I interviewed for a B-2 when I was 12 and a F-1 when I was 18. But the very thought of this is making my stomach clench.
