Hi, thanks! I already sent my ds230 package to my in-laws in the States =)

My father in law (who is our co-sponsor) is gathering his tax returns and everything to finish his affidavit package. So we should be ready to send it when they request.

One more thing.... he is filling out his 2009 tax return the next couple of days. Do you think NVC will request the tax return or we should be ok sending the W2 only?

He said he may not receive the tax return by the time we have to send the aos package in. So we are planing to send the 2008/07/06 tax returns, transcripts and W2 - and W2 for 2009.

I might have the tax return/transcript by interview date, but I want to make sure we won't be stuck in NVC because of the 2009 return/transcript.

What do you guys think? Thanks =)

Hi guys! So today starts the Carnival holiday here in Brazil!

So glad the US don't celebrate Carnival, otherwise everything would be closed till Wednesday at noon!

ok I called and spoke to a nice lady of course in Spanish so she can understand me well... it looks that they are open.. I asked her when should I receive my email and she say 3-5 days.. so I wont be checking the email evey 5 minutes..cause I will get crazy

Wow, 4 holidays? That's a lot! Carnival in Brazil lasts about a month haha

People say that the Country only start to work well after Carnival. Thank God not in the US, otherwise we'd be screwed.

THIS YEAR WE WILL HAVE A SCHOOL OF SAMBA AS AN INTERNATIONAL GUEST AS THE BRAHMA IS THE COMPANY THAT IS SPONSORING THE CARNAVAL THIS YEAR TOGETHER WITH THE NATIONAL BEER COMPANY SO WE WILL HAVE OUR LITTLE PIECE OF BRAZIL HERE HEHEHE.. Estrella~the Affidavit of support packet is the I-864 packet the USC will be sending in to prove that there is support for the immigrant spouse...

tax forms or IRS transcripts of past 3 years

letter of employment

ummm I don't remember....check James' shortcuts, I know there is a list in there!!

You will need:

your printed barcode sheet from the NVC payment center

your I-864 if single sponsor and also I-864A if joint sponsors

employment letter

paystubs from at least the last three months

copies of your tax returns and W-2s for the last three years as indicated in your I-864

Cover letter if you like

Make sure you write the NVC Case Number on EVERY page of all your documents. This is so they can recover them in case they get mixed up with someone else's.

Regarding the AOS, we filled in the I864 according to the 2008 tax returns as our 2009 taxes haven't been filed yet.

You can use 2008, '07 and '06 for the NVC and have the 2009 tax transcript for the interview.

If you're sending in the 2009 tax stuff to NVC, send in the tax return and W2. I don't think you'll be able to get a tax transcript that soon.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I don't even think we'll be able to send to NVC the tax return for 2009. Maybe only the w2.

I'm sure we'll have the papers for the interview though.

Anyway, let's hope they don't send us a RFE asking for the 2009 papers.

NVC won't 'cause the deadline for taxes is April 15.

But a lot of consulates are already asking for them.

Yes, that's what I heard. I'm sure they will ask us in Rio.

I just got off the phone with the NVC operator. They said we were not assigned a March interview because the interviewing consulate was at capacity for interviews in March.

I don't know what it really means, but I guess it just means we have to wait another month.

Not cool...
