The best is to keep checking the website (for the payments) when you get a message that the file is no longer able to be processed (usually about 2 weeks after they receive the package) then you get the login fail, the case complete follows in a few days... THEN the AVR! It is usually updated last!!!

Yes, for within India, those two are sufficient. But if you've resided abroad for more than six months after attaining the age of 16 you'll need PCC from Spain or Dubai as well.

Damn, David--what's taking them so long? Did you call them? Make sure they have the right email addresses.

Yohino--if you don't mind my asking, why do you want to delay?

Maybe I should have said that straight away, haha.

We found out yesterday that my husband is being deployed in early may, and the reasonable thing for us to do would be to just wait for my arrival until he returns in december. So I would like to be able to submit all the papers to NVC by april, just so if we get an RFE for anything he'll still be in the US.

But then I don't want my interview / issued visa until july so I have 6 months from then to travel.

So, is it possible just to contact the embassy and ask them to push your interview back a couple of months because of this?

Or would I have to go to the original interview, get my visa and then get it extended before it expires?

Realized another question last nigth to, I figure we'd have to change my husbands adress since he will no longer live at the place we have stated on all the papers so far. Is it ok to change it to his parents adress in the States or what is best to do?

Take care guys!

Yes, I am sure that you can delay the Interview, I would contact the Consulate and see if they are OK with this... Funny, I spend sooo much time advocating how useless and Obsolete the K3 is, and you guys would probably be a perfect case for one!!!

As far as the address, yes you can change it, just notify them of the address change (NVC that is)...

But he will be living there until we will be done with NVC, but they are still the people to notify the change of adress to?

And using his parents adress is alright? Not sure if they would send anything to his post anyways...

How would doing a K3 been good for us? I'm not really up to speed with that process but it wouldn't have gotten my husband back earlier would it? haha!

Jokes aside, I still think the CR-1 is the best route for us, I wouldn't have wanted to go live in the States before he got back anyways so atleast now we don't have any AOS to worry about when I get there in december!

Thanks for answering so fast!

Wait till NVC receives your case and assigns a case number. Call them up and give both email IDs to the operator and wait for your AOS/DS3032 to be mailed to you. Read up on the guides and have the packets ready.
