Hello VJ Friends,

I know some of you knows about my previous visa which was J1 Visa (normally has 2 year rule policy), but not me. I need your opinion if i should prepare an affidavit of loss as the paper that states that i am not subject to the 2 year rule policy was lost! According to my husband, i should not worry about it as it was not became a problem during the USCIS and NVC process and both offices knows about the previous visa.

i just want to prepare all the documents that might be needed!

Ok, so don't pay anything till you get the email requesting you to make the payment--I get that part.

But once it's paid and the cover sheet is available--why can't we send that in then? It would take at least a day or two for it to reach NVC in any case.

MsS--This is from your timeline. What's on January 8--receiving I-864 package--does the NVC send us something? This is what I'm wondering.

01-06-2010 : Pay I-864 Bill (I get that)

01-08-2010 : Receive I-864 Package (?)--Is this when the coversheet you mentioned before became available?

01-09-2010 : Return Completed I-864 (I get this).

I am also in limbo that should I send the 864 form now because I have document cover sheet.

OR I have to wait for NVC's email asking for 864.

Here ya go Deep...Osen answered it but you must have missed it...

the I-864 package is actually a link on the instructions about the I-864 and the form itself.. and yes it's when the AOS coversheet becomes available and that is when your AOS payment status shows "paid" on the NVC online payment system..

And i hope i find my Log in fail soon. Its cold outside, i dont want anything to happen to him. Im worried something happened to him. Poor Log in Fail. I hope he did not get stolen.

Yes i sent everything ahead of time once the coversheet was available I sent it it made no difference at all by the time i mailed it they had requested it

BTW I just checked yesterday's mail & there's a letter from my State Senator he had made an inquiry on my behalf so they kinda put me in the speed lane I sent a letter to the Senator at the USCIS stage and he did not get to my case until after i was already approved so USCIS told him they no longer had my case and he sent an inquiry to NVC (around the same time we got the DS-3032 & AOS bill) I wonder if the operators at NVC knows that I had a Senator inquiry? i wonder if they noted that on my case? I don't want to be picked on because there was an inquiry because it was mean't for USCIS not NVC

That could be a reason that your case has gone through so quick, but I don't think that they will detain you just because of an inquiry.....

Hmm that is a good question. If you had an affidavit that says you weren't subject to the 2 year rule, who made the paper out? Could you get another one if needed?

I would think that if both the USCIS and NVC knew about the previous visa, then they would have wanted you to submit something in with your paperwork. I think you will be ok too!!

Hello Andrea, hope all is well! About your questions, the paper that states i am not subject to the 2 year rule policy is what they call the DS 2019. This DS 2019 was lost after i changed my passport. My question is if i should get an affidavit of loss for that paper!

USCIS and NVC received a copy of my previous visa plus a copy of the DS 2019, but the original one got lost which is i am getting worried if they will ask for the original!

Just gave the operator our email addresses! I called exactly as NVC opened. She said we should be receiving the emailed links "very soon."

We're ON OUR WAY. Can I get a Hallelujah?

I think you've got it Sach!! If you plan on sending your packet before you get the email...just make sure you don't overnight it!!! Usually we send ours next day or FedEx.....

I actually waited almost 5 days to send in my packet after I was able to download my coversheet...I waited for the email but I figured after 5 days then it was time to send it in, then I got it that night!!! Whew!!!

I saw too many people who had to call and straighten out the whole mess because they sent in the packet before the email!!!
