NVC Febuary 2010 Edition!

I was printing out my cover letter and a statement from me tonight to include in the AOS package... and... well i thought I would proof read them "1" more time... and OMG I had the wrong NVC case number on there.... It was off by 1 number.... WOW and I call myself being ####### about it... I am glad that I looked at it.

I Do have a question, I had read earlier where ppl are printing there case number on the top right corner of all the documents... is this done on the I-864 also, or just all the supporting documents?

I suggest a sheet of laser labels - the smallest ones that they sell

Right, I should've said "official" language instead of "national" language. The constitution of India mentions that the primary official language of the Union should be "Hindi in the Devanagari script." Thanks for calling me out on that one.

But are these contactors processing the case? I though Serco Contactors just did the call center part of it and the actual processing is done by Federal employees?

Bad news, fellas. AVR updated to "On 24th February we found missing or incomplete information on your AOS package after review." ####. ####. ####.

Although my hopes of an April interview have evaporated and I've cried for the past hour, I still need to know how to deal with this RFE. If I call NVC as soon as they open at 730AM, will they tell me what the exact nature of the RFE is? Will the RFE come in the mail or via email? How do I send it back--the whole package or just what they asked for?

I'm guessing it is one of my joint sponsor's document. My husband sent his stuff to him, and then he sent it to NVC so I'm going to find out exactly WHAT he sent and what IS missing.

I feel sorry for the RFE u got today.....BTW y u need a Co-sponsor if ur hubby is working and earning good amt of money which satisfy their expectations.....Is it must the petitioner to show a co-sponsor during AOS....

Ohhhh no .............Hope you get to talk to an operator tomorrow morning to clarify the RFE. I know how u feel........ Been there for three years and counting now . Dont give up and keep your head high. You know the whole of the Feb folks are rooting for you.

Thanks Raj and Vivek, thanks for your support. I'm just very depressed. Hopefully, it's something minor that we can fix over the weekend and send it out on Monday if the RFE email comes in sometime during today.

Well, if it is anything like the USCIS, you will have to wait for the paper RFE...the operator couldnt tell me anything when I had an RFE with the USCIS. Hopefully the NVC will be different. That really sucks!!! I know you guys put in a lot of time to submitting everything.

Maybe we can overnight it tonight/tomorrow, then. I don't know whether to hopeful anymore or not. I can't take this process anymore.

Gina--Your possible RFE was on the 23rd and you received it on the 25th, yes? Hopefully, mine will be emailed today, the 26th since it says it was mailed out on the 24th. Did you receive it in your email or the hardcopy?

Affidavit of Support RFE: "The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete on your financial information. The NVC sent a checklist letter on ... "

OMG I am soooo sorry I think I might cry with you. Out of everyone here I would not of expected you to have had an RFE, Can you list out everything that was sent in your AOS package? Maybe we can all look at it and help ya figure out the RFE... I am wondering.. isnt there sometimes a false RFE and it can be something stupid like maybe they misplaced the co-sponsos BC... What a morning.. thought I would wake up with more good news

ON a brighter note everyone... I talked with my hubby at 4 am and he offically has both PCC's in hand woot woot... The whole process took 4 days to get the 2 PCC's... Now I have to see how we are going to do the DS-230... I am thinking about filling out the form, printing it, scaning it back on the computer and then emailing it too him so he can print it out, and then he will sign it and mail it too me.... My other option, is walking him step by step on it.. To be the smartest man I have ever known... he sure isnt computer savvy Anyways.. If all goes well I will have both AOS/DS-230 out the door by Tuesday! I think I will tripple check them with yall .

sachinky - sorry to hear about the RFE. I hope it's something simple.. may be someone forgot to sign the the I-864. I may be in the same boat. I just realized that the Police Certificate i sent yesterday is not the the original, the translation is original. I'm getting my wife to send the original today just in case they give us a RFE. It should be here midweek next week. She's going to go and apply for another one one just in case she need it for her interview. Another dumb thing i did was i total forgot to write the case number on the top right corner of all documents submitted. Im not sure how bad this could be. I hope it's ok.

So for all the VJ'er out there, my lesson learn:

1. Verify all your documents that your spouse/beneficiary sent to you to ensure they meets the requirements
   
2. Take your time and double/triple check all your document packets when you prepare them - Do not try to rush. When you do, you'll most likely overlook something so simple as writing case number on the top corner of all documents submitted.
   
3. Get your spouse/beneficiary to send more than 1 copy of the required "certify documents". This is so that when you do have a RFE, your required documents are ready on hand.
   

I hope i'm worrying over nothing, but i can't stop myself from thinking the simple mistakes that could come and and bite me in the rear.
