Me too SJ. It sure seems that way! Hang in there. The fact that the recording says "in the next few days" is encouraging tho. Better than their typical "a few weeks" Mine AOS was received on the 18th and just yesterday did the operator show it as being received. NOT reviewed, however. I wonder how long it takes for them to review the DS230? shouldnt be as long as the AOS i would imagine

Yeah, I guess I'm just getting impatient here. They only received my AOS on the 22nd and the DS-230 on the 23rd. So it hasnt really been more than a day or two. I think I should settle down a bit and W-A-I-T... ugghhhhhh

MrsW--Thankyou. Yes, I did attend college in the U.S. for four years on a F-1. But I also attended a fine English-medium school in Calcutta while growing up so don't think those dang Americans are responsible for my English language skills. :) Seriously, my husband can't spell.

This reminds me of the time I was in the health center for an infection. The nurse remarked, "Wow, you speak English so well!" So I grinned at her and said, "Shockingly enough, so do you!" Then we had a right laugh about it.

haha funny! I know what you mean... I have to correct my husband sometimes!!

I also attended private English classes for 4 years before going to the US. But I don't think I would ever be fluent if i hadn't live there. I still have a lot to work on mine... what I really hate is my accent, though. Hubby doesn't want me to take accent reduction classes, he thinks it's cute. LOL

MrsW--I hope your transcripts come in soon! Man, if only you had them, you could've had your package outta the door today and they'd get it tomorrow morning!

Gina--I hope your PCC gets there soon. I hope it's not stuck in customs. Have you received the actual RFE?

Nope, no RFE yet....going to call NVC again today just to check the status, but AVR said something was mailed on 23rd....

Okay, thank you for the tip....calling customs now....what am I supposed to do if it is "stuck" in customs?

Ah, what those dang Americans have been responsible for is neutralizing my accent in four years, which wasn't quite strong to begin with. I can fake an American quite well by now with their "As" instead of "Uhs."

My first language since I was three has been English, it is what instruction was imparted in at my school right through from primary to high school -- my second language is my "mother tongue," Bengali, and third is the national language, Hindi.

I just got back from the UPS store, cost me $46 for next day delivery. It'll be at the NVC by 10am.

Try Fedex next time. I UPSd my AOS forms and they wanted $39.00 to overnight them.

I Fedexed my DS-230 overnight and they charged me $26.00 and change.

i'm filling out i-864 on behalf of my wife as she is at work atm. A few questions:

1. In part 3, do I put my details AGAIN even though I put them into part 2 "Principal immigrant"?

2. in part 5 Q 21, do I put a '1' for spouse as well?? Even though i'm not currently living in the States??

I hope this made sense. It doesn't to me haha

I'm from Tennessee/Alabama border and after getting off the phone with my momma, I need some accent reduction classes!!! Normally, I do pretty well. I think, not to sound like I fell off the turnip truck, but after a bit on the phone or after a visit... whew, get the redneck translator program (aka... the ol' speak and spell)...lol..

i'm filling out i-864 on behalf of my wife as she is at work atm. A few questions:

Yes, you have to put the information for the principal immigrant... And you ONLY count each person ONCE... the extra question about spouse is if you were say sponsoring children or parents and you were not the principal immigrant... If it is you and your wife, then the total should be 2...
