Just noticed something today when i was completing the AOS package. The shipping adress for the AOS package on the coversheet is:

National Visa Center

Attn. CMR AOS

32 Rochester Avenue

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

On the cover sheet template for the I-864 is:

National Visa Center

ATTN: CMR

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

So i changed my template to match the adress on the AOS cover sheet that NVC send when we paid our AOS fee. Those that send in their AOS package already, what address did you shipped them to? I'm worry that i'm shipping my AOS package tot he wrong location.

Thanks.

This is a common concern. Not to worry, it'll reach NVC regardless of which of the above two addresses you use. Good luck

It's a coverletter with a bar code on it. You should put this coverletter on top of all the documents you send to NVC with your I-864 and other financial docs. Similar to the IV Fee bill coverletter.

I can't point you exactly to where to print it out on the payment portal as I can't log in anymore. It should be available to print once your AOS fee of $70 has been processed. Maybe some of the others who still have access to the payment portal can direct you to the exact way to obtain the coverletter. :)

Melody--It'll say email/print receipt. And below it, it says email/print cover sheet. PRINT COVER SHEET.

Gina--What kind of RFE? Oh no!

David--Took a little while but you're on your way! All hail Sue the Supervisor!

Estrella--So all your packets are outta the door? Awesome. Now we wait and watch.

MrsW--I really do think you'll be fine. The I864 works in this way -- if the intending immigrant uses public money like foodstamps, the U.S. government can recoup that money from your sponsors. Remember, the spouse is always the primary sponsor so the first person they go to is the primary sponsor and then the joint sponsor if he/she can't pay them back. It's not really the same as being "financially responsible" for them or any other activity they might indulge in. A lot of people DO sign separate contracts on the side, saying they won't sue for money or the sponsor won't REALLY have to pay anything because someone else (maybe someone on the beneficiary's side) will pay them back. This is what bugs me about this--we had to use a joint sponsor but I/my parents have enough income and assets (and they were willing to help us out) but those couldn't be counted in. So actually, we're not as poor as we look. That said, if your FIL gives a I864 as a backup, you'll be golden.

Tharnsur--The address thing is confusing. But I assume it'll all end up in the same place.

No, I havent read. And you are right, a legal binding document regardless. So, is it more than just support? would a USC be responsible for any criminal activity a beneficiary may commit?

As far as I know, no nothing criminal.

Thank you Sachi, my dad also offered money, but since it can't be counted in I didn't accept. I'll write the notarized letter anyway, in case we have to use his affidavit.

I just received the ds3032 accept. It's the first one I sent before even receiving the AOS bill. So for those who are wondering if it's ok to send the choice of agent as soon as you receive the case number, it worked for me =)

Things seems to be moving along!!!! I'll log in now and see if the invoice is ready to be paid.
