the email DS-3032 has been sent to the NVC... but we never recieved an email back.. i thought an automative response email was kicked back when you emailed them.... should I try to send the email again, or just wait? I am going to be mailing the hard copy at the end of the week

I never got a response from the email either. I got paranoid and just Fedexed the original to be on the safe side. No worries, you will get a email soon.

Ok folks here's my update.

Just called NVC and spoke with an operator and apparently I will be receiving an RFE because I did not send the Police Clearance Certificate with the DS-230 package. According to her, the RFE will have enough information for the beneficiary to show to the Police Authorities as proof of requirement of the certificate and that we should acquire it and send it in.

So looks like we are going to have a delay of some sort. I hope the PCC process in her town doesnt take too long.

Maybe we'll have to grease a few palms along the way, but who hasnt heard of tha in India?

SJ--That's fast. Ask her to go first thing tomorrow morning. Didn't you send in both? I thought you did. And I thought it was ok to send in one for NVC and one for the interview for Chennai. Or was yours the less than 6 month old passport? Sorry, I try to keep track but there's a bunch of Indians in here.

If I could go back in time, I'd go back to June last year and slap myself silly for not going via the AOS route through my F-1. GAH.

OK, I just tried to pay my AOS online and...I check the AOS box, then click on Pay Selected Fees, and nothing happens. That page just reloads. I feel like an idiot; what am I doing wrong?

No, they havent gotten to my DS-230 forms yet, she was just speaking based on what their standard procedures are.

I had only sent in one because my wife's city police authorities dont issue a PCC unless there is a written request from the consulate for it.

She has already applied for it and the process has started, but they will create one for her and not give it to her unless she brings the proof.

Oh well, we'll wait for the RFE I guess.

Valerie--That is common on Macs. I had the same problem with IE. Mozilla and Google Chrome should work fine.

I am using Chrome. Will try FF. If that fails, IE. Yikes.

OK, it worked on FF. YAY!
