I hear you!! This place has been a blessing.

Father in law just emailed me saying he has an appointment with a immigration attorney tomorrow.

Hope that helps him to understand that we are not trying to do anything bad to him. It's just a damn co-sponsor form.

I'm just afraid because I don't know who is this attorney, and we all know most of them know nothing and are worthless.

We'll see.

I paid as soon as it showed not paid. It took 2 days after it showed up online to get the e-mail. I had no problems with paying it early like that.

Well, we will doing the advanced medical in a couple of hours. Please pray for us. Dont think they will let me in, but i will go anyways.

Hey guys!

We paid our AOS fee and waiting for it to say PAID. Just had a question on the AOS package. For the tax forms, do you have to send the 1040's and W-2's or are the tax transcripts from the IRS enough??

Thanx in advance!!

If you have tax transcripts, that is all you need. If you send the 1040, you will need to send all w-2 and 1099s as applicable.

ok hear me out... I have another question about the co sponser for my AOS..... My dad is going to be the cosponser and he is retired from FedEx, he recieves a retirement check every month. My question is... does a cosponser have to have an employment letter? If so, I talked with my dad and this is going to be impossible to get. I asked him if there wasnt some type of letter when he retired or something... and My dad says no... He has years worth of paycheck stubs, W-2's, etc... He just went last week and got his BC. I am even thinking about getting his tax transcripts for the last 3 years... do I need maybe an affidavit from my dad stating how much he makes, that he is retired etc. in lue of an employment letter?... I know that he will be stating this on the I-864, am I thinking too much?

Will there ever come a day when I dont think about Immigration stuff? Will I ever be able to have a normal conversation with my Husband that doesnt pertain to what form needs to be filled out and where to sign what and arrrrrrrrgh...

--MrsW--Good luck. I hope the attorney convinces your FIL that the joint sponsor thing is not that big a deal.

--Melody--Employment letter is optional. If you don't have it, you don't. Just send copies of your dad's paystubs for the last 6 months.

--DS230 Packet

Barcoded cover sheet for IV bill of $400.

Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (NVC Case Number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both)

DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary

DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary – unsigned, as of yet, per instructions

Photocopy of the Biographic Data Page(s) of Beneficiary’s Passport

Original/Certified Birth Certificate of beneficiary (with an attested translation provided) and a copy

Original/Certified Marriage Certificate and a copy

Original/Certified Passport Office Police Certificate for Beneficiary and a copy

Original/Certified Police Clearance Certificate and a copy.

--Folks, remember these tips regarding the AOS: The primary sponsor irrespective of income must fill in an I-864. If your joint sponsor resides in the same house as you, then they will fill in an I-864A. If they live in a separate household, then they will fill in an I864.

If they are filling in an I864A, please remember to include proof of same household/relationship.

If they are filling in the I864, please attach proof of their residence or citizenship. They must be a LPR or USC in order to act as a joint sponsor.

Most common RFEs are for these two things.

--IRS tax transcripts or tax return accompanied by W2 is fine for AOS. Three years is optional.

--Best to wait to get the email to pay the IV bill. Although I paid it before I received it and it was fine. Payment through in 12 hours.

--And I can still sign in. Come on Tuesday! :)

but is optional..the RFE is because they lose this even putting the number...we just need to pray that they dont lose any of the documents..

I just tend to side on safety and say put the # in the upper corner small... just for additional backup in case the documents get seperated... however, it is a personal choice... playing the odds, you are OK, but if they get seperated it will just cost you some extra time to re-send...
