Just as a FYI, kids:

Notarized copies are photocopies of the original which have are stamped by the notary, to signify that it is a true copy.

Certified copies are ones that are given by the ORIGINAL ISSUING ENTITY. So if I wanted to get a certified copy of my birth certificate, I'd have to go to the Calcutta Municipal Corporation and get them to issue a copy of my birth certificate against my original, old one that will essentially look like an original copy. Whereas a notarized copy of my birth certificate would just be a photocopy of my BC that would have a notary's attestation. Hope this makes some sense. I'm not sure it does.

NVC wants ORIGINAL or CERTIFIED copies. They are NOT accepting NOTARIZED or ATTESTED copies.

I agree with that, because that is why I am a month behind, because the nvc wanted the orginal or certified copy by the governing authority. So I had to wait to get them from the wife, then send them into nvc.

I thought I should send some signed by my parents who were there at the wedding.

Hi Sean ...I believed affidavits of marriage are not requested by NVC perhaps at the interview you should have some but at the NVC is not requested..NVC only transmitted the affidavit of support and the application for the visa...

you need this kind of affidavits at the time of filling I-130 not with NVC.

If you may feel good, you can take it to the interview.

I have also filed 2 affidavits with I-130 and I am planning to get few more at the time of interview NOT for NVC. :star:

Haha. I promised myself I wouldn't get too antsy about a "login failed" until next week. Once I start logging in to that damned site, I can't stop. I'll be happy as long as I get a Case Complete by 02/26 and an early April interview on the second week of March. PLEASE, pray for me, guys!

5-7 business days to receive your AOS/DS3032 emails once your case number has been assigned and your email addresses given to NVC.

Support affidavits are NOT required for NVC. Only the interview, if you so wish.

DS3032s are being accepted at 5-6 business days currently.

04/29/09 : NOA1.

10/12/09: touched.

08/11/09: I-130 APPROVED!..asking for i824.....

08/24/09: i824 mailed

08/29/09: NOA 1

10/08/09: i824 transferred to local field office, went to field office, they said they dont have any info, called USCIS, they said it was an error, i shouldn't have filed i824...expedite request....no response..

10/28/09: contacted congressman

1/29/2010: USCIS located my files

02/01/2010: received approval notices for i130 AND i824
