Well, my husband prepared his I-864 a long time ago and saved it on his computer. He just signed and dated it right before it went out.

But you can date it a few days before or after your AOS bill clears. It doesn't matter at all. I assume you'll have your emails Monday and pay the bill, which should clear by Tues/Wed so if your brother just dates it around then it should be fine. Don't stress too much about this. Just make sure all your documents are in order.

Folks, remember these tips regarding the AOS: The primary sponsor irrespective of income must fill in an I-864. If your joint sponsor resides in the same house as you, then they will fill in an I-864A. If they live in a separate household, then they will fill in an I864.

If they are filling in an I864A, please remember to include proof of same household/relationship.

If they are filling in the I864, please attach proof of their residence or citizenship. They must be a LPR or USC in order to act as a joint sponsor.

Most common RFEs are for these two things.

Congratulations, Brian and Donna! Excellent news! :) Your case complete should be on Thursday. Call after 3pm or 10pm. Could you please update your timeline? Thanks.

Heyyyyy .... how is everyone?? Congrats to all who've had case complete since I've been here and congrats to all who have been approved. Latest for me:-

IV bill generated and paid today (for some reason the email took 5 days?). BUT we have issues ... sad to say. Whatever can go wrong has gone wrong.

1. We need a co-sponsor (never anticipated that but the military sucks as of now). So now we have to wait for his mother to receive her tax transcripts.

2. Husband decides to tell me last week while getting the I-864 packet ready that he does not have 06/07 because he did not file ... #######?? Have I been speaking & typing English for the last 3 months?? So now we're waiting on that. As soon as that is done he can mail off his AOS packet because he has everything else.

3. I spent $400 on apostilles and couriers so he could file jointly for 2009 and he informs me last week when he opens the package I forgot to include the signed statement. ####### to me??

We wanted to go slowly but not this slowly!! I estimate all this is going to cost us 4 weeks so I think I'm going to miss an April interview. You see why I've been hibernating?? It's all too much for me at the moment. Hope you're all well ... :star:

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR: (dd/mm/yyyy)

18/09/09 - CR1 NOA1

16/07/10 - POE LAX (256 days NOA1 to interview)

27/09/10 - Aussie/American bun in the oven due May 10, 2011

06/01/11 - Submitted change of address online to USCIS. Mailed I-865 for sponsor. Neverending!

05/05/11 - Bouncing baby boy arrives

10/07/12 - Sent I-751

13/07/12 - I-751 NOA1

Oh dear, Deb, I hope all of this is resolved soon and you can send in your AOS packet pronto. When did you order the IRS transcripts? They usually take about 2 weeks.

Is your DS230 packet ready? Send that in as soon as your IV bill shows as PAID in a day or two.

Good luck. I'm sure everything will be back on track soon! :)

Take care.

Just as a FYI, kids:

Notarized copies are photocopies of the original which have are stamped by the notary, to signify that it is a true copy.

Certified copies are ones that are given by the ORIGINAL ISSUING ENTITY. So if I wanted to get a certified copy of my birth certificate, I'd have to go to the Calcutta Municipal Corporation and get them to issue a copy of my birth certificate against my original, old one that will essentially look like an original copy. Whereas a notarized copy of my birth certificate would just be a photocopy of my BC that would have a notary's attestation. Hope this makes some sense. I'm not sure it does.

NVC wants ORIGINAL or CERTIFIED copies. They are NOT accepting NOTARIZED or ATTESTED copies.

Hi Sachinky, good morning.

Let me ask you something regarding this. My husband is living with me here in Brazil for a while (about 6 months). His dad is our co-sponsor.

We are using his parents address as domicile, since we are going to crash there for a couple of moths when we arrive in America.

Do you think he should file the 864A or just 864? I opened a topic a few days ago and the information I received was that in this case, it doesn't matter which one.

What do you think? Should I ask my father in law do refile but this time 864A?

Thanks for your help.

Hi NVC Febuary Filers... Im silent member of this thread but i always here readng some information u post here. But I think this time i need a help. I have some question here and hope u wiling to help me... Because our AOS packages was complete already. Do we need the notification and the list of AOS from NVC? Or we sent the AOS packages now to the NVC? because my husband called the NVC and asking them if it is o.k we sent the AOS packages since its completed now. But the operator told him to wait when they want us to sent it.

Can anybody explain me here what to do after they accepted my DS-3032 and show paid with the AOS bill. is I-864 form and the DS-230 form is the same? And do we need to wait when the NVC give us notification to sent the packages? Please help me

Take care

Mrswife--Your FIL should be fine with filling in the I864 since currently your husband and your FIL don't live together. At least, IMO. You can ask someone more experienced but I reckon, the I864 is fine since your husband is living with you currently. Actually, for your spouse's address, what are you using? Your address in Brazil or your FIL's address in US? Is your husband visiting you or residing with you? Maybe a call to a NVC operator could clear up this issue?

Neomona--Firstly, you're going to have to fill in your timeline if you want me to answer anymore questions beyond this. :) If your AOS bill is showing as PAID, print out the barcoded cover sheet and send in your AOS packet to NVC with that coversheet on top. Once your DS3032 is accepted, your IV bill will become available to pay. Once that is paid and shows as PAID you can print out the cover sheet and send in your DS230 package. No, they're not the same. Whatever gave you that idea? They're two different packets with two different forms.

Ok, thanks!! It's always good to make sure we don't get any RFEs. So in this case I should add a copy of my FIL birth certificate to prove US citizenship?
