Does anyone here know if the consulates in India were closed last Friday (Feb 12th). The consulate website (chennai) don't specify Feb 12th on the list of closure days, so.... The reason I asked is because I've been tracking our packet sent from NVC via DHL to Chennai and it seems there was an exception on Friday, Feb 12th as DHL reported the premises closed. I expected them to closed today for President's day, but Friday doesn't seem to make sense.. any clues anyone?

I am not sure if this even applies but Feb 12 was Mahashivratri, it was a real speacial day for my Hubby he even asked me to fast with him. I was talking with him and he said possible maybe they were closed due to this??? Not sure..

calling the NVC in 1 hour praying that my case has been uploaded and I get my case number today :D I am planning on calling 3 times a day, everyday this week until I get my case number!!! :dance:

I'm sure this was asked at some point in this thread but it's so big that I thought I'd just ask again. We just got to NVC on Friday so we're in the document collecting phase. I have two questions:

1) Is it better to get the 2009 taxes done and put on 09, 08, and 07 for the I-864 or should I do 08, 07, and 06 and have 09 ready for the interview? If you have them done in time, go ahead and include them, if not at least have them for the interview

2) I understand that we will need to send in the original translated marriage contract but will they want the original one in arabic too? I sent in a copy with the original petition.

Yes!!!! Make sure it is the ORIGINAL arabic AND ORIGINAL stamped english translation!!! TRUST ME.... :whistle:

I'm sure I will have more questions soon but I thank you in advance for the answers!

Just got our NOA2! Looks like we are the newest members of the NVC Feb bunch. We got approved on 4th Feb but didn't receive the hard copy until today the 16th and haven't gotten an email saying they received it, should we have heard something or am I shooting the gun?

I mail my DS3032 yesterday by UPS after I emaile it last Friday just in case they dont receive my email..I checked UPS and they receive it couple hours ago signed by somebody named DESMOND.. SO GOOD..hope that they accept it soon and they can send me the IV bill..NVC move ur a..s..s.

I know!!! Sucks. NVC operator said we have to wait until March to be scheduled for an interview..
