UPS overnight delivery is $18, FYI.

I resolve to be less nutsy this week. I'm going to give them about 5 business days and all hell will break lose from 02/22 onwards.

Good luck, fellow bravehearts.

Lots of the info in the shortcuts is already outdated. Mrs. Wife, I did the same thing, read it every night trying to remember the instructions in the beginning, but the steps at NVC are really easy now that everything is online and through AVR. All of the barcode stuff and IIN doesn't apply. The only MUST is to have your papers filled out and copies/documents prepared to submit. Get your taxes copied, forms (DS230) filled out and ready, passport pics, police clearances etc DONE now....there are 1,000 lists here to verify everything you need. But don't worry stress the steps at NVC on the shortcuts, just have your documents ready and we SACHINSKY : ) can help you.

Nice and slow at work today because of the holiday....but COME ON ALREADY! Deliver the fricken mail! Sachinsky may go a little postal this week if she doesn't get a log in failed!! : ) As soon as you get yours girl, then I'll start checking online.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The shortcut is very confusing!

Thank God we have Sachinsky here, lol - and all of you, of course! :D

I have all my docts and pictures and DS bla bla bla ready to go. Just missing the barcoded sheet.

The only thing that is bugging me it's the 2009 taxes.

I'm afraid we won't have enough time to get the return/transcripts by interview date.

My father in law filed them out this weekend, but then he will have to receive the returns, ask for the transcripts and then put them in the mail to BR.

For the other years, we already request them. IRS is sending on the mail this week.

Also, all the tax papers have to be original or he could scan it to me and I print it out to bring to the interview? (in case the 2009 take some time?)

No they don't have to be originals at all. I did mine turbo tax and printed them out. I'm sure that IRS transcripts won't be available until probably after April 15th.

Don't worry about the 2009 stuff now. You have the rest in your possession, correct? Just send those in. Have the 2009 ones ready for the interview.

Yes, everything is in hand! The tax returns, W2, pay stubs, everything. Only the 2008/09/07 transcripts we don't, but is on it's way. AOS package is almost ready to go.

So if it doesn't need to be original, once he receive the 2009 stuff he can scan and send it to me by email right?

Sometimes I think it would be easier if hubby was in America  . In laws are helping a lot though... can't really complain. :innocent:

If you have the returns and the W2, then you're good to go.

It's either that OR the tax transcripts. However, since you've ordered them might as well use them.

For 2009 only W2. I understand after you file your taxes, you receive the returns within 2 weeks right? And after that we can request the transcripts if we want?

Sorry I'm bugging you guys.... it's just that is so different this taxes stuff here in Brazil. I think it's a lot easier down here. Erghhhh :bonk:

Deep, don't panic yet. Might be an RFE for your DS230 package if you haven't sent it in yet.

Sean--your payment should clear by Tuesday afternoon.

Well, good. I was just about to propound on my very limited US tax abilities.

Thank you! I'm very limited with this stuff too. As my husband's dad is an accountant we never had to do anything. He takes care of everything, so we never cared to understand the tax process.

But as it was driving me crazy, I called him and he explained how it works.

I hate being ignorant! Glad things are solved now.

Thanks again =)
