If you have mailed in your 864 then just give her a copy of the 2009 tax form and W2 for the interview. IF you haven't mailed them in yet, it would make sense to go ahead and redo the 864 to include 2009 taxes.

Only thing I'm worried about is whether they would mind me not including the "alien" wife using a ITIN number and whether they will ask me about it.

So still debating if I should or should'nt include the 2009 taxes.

OK, so my AOS shows paid, but i have not received anything since. Hubby got notice from NVC that his ds3032 was accepted and they will be sending information to me about paying the IV bill. I have not signed in to check yet but I haven't received anything from NVC since I paid the AOS fee. Should I go ahead and send the AOS package or just wait till they send instructions? Do I send AOS separate from DS-230 or together? When do we need the PCC? Is it sent in with the DS-230 package or presented at the embassy during interview?

If your AOS shows paid, then go ahead, print out the coversheet and send your package in. Go, go, go.

Your DS3032 has been accepted? Great. That means your IV bill has already been generated. Log into the site and use your initial invoice number to pay it. Wait for it to show as PAID. My payment cleared in less than 12 hours. Then send in your DS230 package with the PCCs. Depending on your consulate (Mumbai), you can get away with sending one and showing the other at the interview. For Delhi, both will have to be submitted to NVC. I am not sure about Chennai.

Why do we need to get the invoice number? NVC will send me all the bills and DS3032 right? What is the Invoice number good for?

Your IIN is needed to sign into the NVC payment portal and pay both the bills. It comes with the DS3032/AOS emails you receive.

I assume it is possible that the invoice number is created when the case number is assigned so I guess it can't hurt to ask the operator. Might save you a day or two. Not weeks. Well, not anymore. For example, my AOS bill was dated Feb 4, but they emailed it to me on Feb 5. If I'd had my IIN, we could've made the payment one day earlier.

Its just the way he puts "it can save you weeks" got me worried! But I guess is not the case anymore since it's about 1-2 days gap only.

Well, currently it's taking them 5-7 days after assigning case numbers to email the links. A couple of months ago, it took nearly 3 weeks.

I didn't include my husband on my taxes for 2009 because (1)he doesn't have a social security number OR tax id number and (2)he is not in the USA with me yet.

So I had all ready got my taxes done and I'm taking a copy of the 1040 and my W2s and 1099 forms. That way we will have them IF they ask!

Lots of the info in the shortcuts is already outdated. Mrs. Wife, I did the same thing, read it every night trying to remember the instructions in the beginning, but the steps at NVC are really easy now that everything is online and through AVR. All of the barcode stuff and IIN doesn't apply. The only MUST is to have your papers filled out and copies/documents prepared to submit. Get your taxes copied, forms (DS230) filled out and ready, passport pics, police clearances etc DONE now....there are 1,000 lists here to verify everything you need. But don't worry stress the steps at NVC on the shortcuts, just have your documents ready and we SACHINSKY : ) can help you.

Nice and slow at work today because of the holiday....but COME ON ALREADY! Deliver the fricken mail! Sachinsky may go a little postal this week if she doesn't get a log in failed!! : ) As soon as you get yours girl, then I'll start checking online.
