Howdy Vjer family! Sunshiny morning ^_^

My concern is regarding my Philippine passport. This will expire on Dec 2011,and Im wondering if I could apply for passport renewal earlier. I mean right now ,so I could send it together with my Report of Marriage. Anyone of help whos been thru same situation? Id gladly appreciate it ^_^

Yes you can apply. Google the Philippine consulate nearest you. The required documents are listed in the website.

05/18/07 married

05/29/07 sent I-130s for me & my daughter at CSC

06/16/07 checks for I-130 cashed

06/19/07 sent I-129F not waiting for noa1 but with printed online copies of checks cashed

06/25/07 check for I-129f cashed

06/29/07 transferred I-129f to CSC

07/03/07 received noa1 in the mail for I-129f

10/31/07 approved K3 and my I-130 except for my daughter

11/05/07 received NOA2 in the mail

12/01/07 received mail from NVC/yey we got our case number

Our filipina friend was required to renew her passport in person. You may want to contact the Philippine Embassy nearest you to see if they will allow you to renew your passport by mail.

Naturalization

3/23/14 - N400 package sent to Phoenix

3/27/14 - N400 package delivered

4/3/14 - NOA1 receipt date

4/4/14 - check cashed

04/29/14 - biometrics date

07/01/14 - interview date

xx/xx/xx - Oath Ceremony

I'm not sure if they still allow you to renew your passport by mail - I think they require you to appear in person now.

My passport expires in 2014 so I plan to just have it amended (to my married name) and renewed when my husband and I visit the Philippines. The Philippine Consulate that has jurisdiction over Michigan is in Chicago so we probably wouldn't be able to have my passport renewed here in the U.S. :( We're sending our Report of Marriage to a different consulate (Los Angeles, CA - since we got married in Nevada).

When we called to ask about passport renewal here, they told us that we needed to file the Report of Marriage. Check with the consulate that has jurisdiction over the state you reside in and ask if you can send them at the same time. :)

Golly! ^_6 in connection with the renewal of my passport, I am comtemplating on having a dual citizenship, Filipino-American. Ive read the links from the previous topics of other Vjers relating to dual citizenship, and some part of the constitution and by-laws , hence learned, I have to have sole allegiance.Furthermore,It appears I need to be aware on what are the pros and cons if il retain USC or take the dual citizenship.And I making sure to take note of its requirements. Being a USC or FIL-USC ,Which one is more beneficial in the long-run?
