*cough* Netbook is a term coined by Intel on small form factor notebooks. *cough*

So, it is office compatible since it runs windows or linux. I know, it's early in the morning.

LOL sorry for my ignorance, Niels

I want to buy one for my husband but need to make sure he can type up his reports and stuff for class on it. We have a desktop Mac but the kids are always on it.

I have one and I LOVE It. we hacked it so it runs Mac OS Snow Leopard -- it's pretty rocking for low usage computing.

I use it for the net, surfing a little writing and that's it...

It's amazing, Id recommend.

Keyboard is almost full size..

I'm using it now on the train! It's light and fast. I have all the Mac software on it for office work, Pages, Numbers and Keynot and all the other stuff.

I rip movies to mp4 size and put them on a USB key and watch them on the mini.

it rocks.

Battery doesn't last long enough but this train has a plug in. I Love the mini...

I wouldn't touch a Dell no matter how cheap it was. Just my opinion.

Just a little advice from someone who knows what goes on inside the computer hardware.

Dell, HP, Asus, Compaq, whatever...They use the same electrical components. The intel chipset or the Ion chipset (nVidia), cpu, memory, transistors, capacitors, resistors pretty much not dependend on the assembler (Dell, HP, Asus, Compaq). In other words what you're buying inside is the same for all the brands. So, this means irregardless of which maker you buy, you will get the same stuff. I know some computer forums like to use the car analogy. One thing I learned about those types of analogy is that those computer geeks do not know a thing about cars. Do not, ever, use car analogies.

But Asus does make motherboards, video cards and other computer components.
