not true, people can go to the hospital when their life is at risk.

the people that aren't insured are likely the ones that don't read labels so they are giving themselves heart disease. after they dine at McDonald everyday and throw in the frozen pizza for dinner, the health system is supposed to fix them so they can go do it all over again? sometimes, God needs to take over.........

Don't blame the frozen pizza for dinner. Sometimes I need something besides Pho to eat.

They can go to the hospital when their life is at risk and get free medical care even if uninsured?

You have a DAMN good point about people causing their own health problems.

There are some people who suffer from other diseases/birth defects that has nothing to do with frozen pizza for dinner however, here I say they need to appeal to the american people, their own families and communities for help, and this is where ordinary Americans can send their "charity" to, instead of overseas.

Why isn't there in America such a big cry for free tertiary education??

It's not a bad strategy.

True. I voted for Jesse Jackson in the 1984 primary. Oh well, Mondale was just as easy to beat. I also had a "Run Jesse Run" bumper sticker on my car. The front bumper!

I really always wondered why more people don't cross over for the primiaries, I mean why not pick the other team? LOL Ahhh, for the good ol days when the parties had NADS and chose their candidates themselves and went with the best they had without a popularity contest first.

Yes. On December 3rd I had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital and had by-pass surgery and it was three days later they even came to ask if I had insurance. My wife is from one of those great eutopian countries (the former USSR, the most Eutopian of all!) with FREE health care, said "In Ukraine, you would just die on the street" LOL

America has the best health CARE in the world. It has a terribly screwed system of paying for it which we have brought on ourselves by not taking responsibility and leaving things up to others (insurance companies) to decide.

We need to

1. Allow any insurance company to sell health insurance in any state, I want to see GEICO ads for health insurance.

2. Tort reform to limit frivilous lawsuits

3. Detach health insurance from employment. Require employers to give back the amount paid for premiums to the worker as wages and let them choose their own insurance with the money. THAT is competiton and THAT will reduce prices. The best way to reduce the costs is to get the PEOPLE out there SHOPPING for health insurance and medical services. They will be having clearance sales on medical procedures, they way they offer Tuesday specials for oil changes. Let the FREE market loose and we will have the best, AND the cheapest health care in the world.

we already see this in $4 prescriptions at Walmart. WHERE the FREE market CAN compete...it does. Allow it to compete, allow it to do its job and keeo the bumbling government out of it. Now our healthcare is delayed because spineless Democrats cannot proceed because they just saw one of their collegues get snuffed out in Mass. So because Martha Coakley lost an election, we can all sit around and wait for the Democrats to grow a new set of b@lls. You really want them running your health care?

NO hospital can refuse treatment regardless of insurance status.
