Did Substitute teaching in Alabama for five months, now teaching High School Math full time in Georgia.

Hey!..... Nice to hear that! We're in the same boat for AOS. I got legal unclassified part-time job 4 months after I got my EAD. Then took me 5 months before I got my driver's license (was winter season when I got my permit). Then 5 months after I got driver's license, I got the same job I had when I was still in the Philippines. We're moving here in St. Louis, MO because of my job.

I have been here in the States for 2 months and 1 week now. When I arrived, I was very lonesome and very homesick. So I immediately look for job.

Since my husband's city is VERY SMALL, there's really not much in here so I found my first job as a FITNESS ASSOCIATE is an exclusive fitness gym for women.

I worked as like instructor and handled the sales.

And I got my second job which is BABY SITTING. Before I wasn't doing anything but now, I raise to heaven to get some rest. phew!

So what's your first job?

Hey ms. Miller-It's me, Ms. Tatu's friend on fb. Well i been here almost 4 yrs. but did not start working till after 2 years ( my own decision). I got 2 jobs at the same time and.. the first 1 i had was as a caregiver and recently quit for a better, high paying job now in a hospital here in GA.

Working at a bank. Pays $18 p/h. Continuing on the same career path from my home country.

Would you mind if I'm super rude and ask what bank that is? Is that all banks? Is it after a certain amount of experience? Entry wage? Age related?

Random other question, is there a central "income" database/website that would tell me what certain jobs pay?

Don't know about the OP, but it prob depends on what level you're at and where you live. In MD I had a friend who was an entry-level teller and she was only making about $10/hour.

I got a job at Macy's... first place I applied at and I've been there since October. It's better than nothing. Jobs are hard to come by. As soon as I have my own car I'll start looking for something better.

Try Payscale.com. It's a bit of a PITA to work out how to use (it tries to make you enter 10 million details about yourself before it'll give you a salary estimate, but you don't have to do that) but it has quite a detailed range of information. Type in the title of the job you want to look at into the search box and it should come up. You can compare salaries in different states and cities too which is very helpful as it varies so much. I've found it simultaneously very useful but then utterly depressing when I look at some of the pay ranges!

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy with everything.. to answer your Q.

Yes they offer education benefits. If you are an employee they pay your full tuition if you want to continue your education. No matter what course/degree you want to take as long as you are employed by them.
