Hotel in Rio for Consulate Interview

My interview was recently scheduled for March 3, i am in search of a hotel close to the consulate in Rio in a safe area. I have seen other topics on this but they are dated. I was wondering if anyone had some recent experience and could give some recommendations.

no info on close to the consulate, but nessa and i stayed just off copacabana beach while in rio. the taxi ride round trip was like 40 R and about 30 min travel each way.

If you need a hotel, the Hotel Ibis Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont was good for us and it is only 0.7 km from the consulate and it is close to Santos Dumont Airport.
