My fiance just noticed that her visa has my city and state on it but it's not the city in state that I live in now. I filed a change of address right after the NOA1 because I moved. Is that something that would be a problem that my city and state is not where I live now on her visa? It doesn't seem like a big deal to me anyway..just wanted to make sure.

Not sure if it will be an issue or not. How close is the POE and airport to the address on the visa?

There is a correction counter at the embassy, your flight is a ways out no?

I think I'd get it corrected since you have a couple of weeks until your flight.

There isn't an address on the visa. It's just a city and state. I have her plane ticket booked for February 4th but she lives in Cebu and she's not stopping in Manila.

My passport was issued in Columbus, OH where I used to live. She's flying into Chicago and will go through customs there, and then has a flight to Omaha a few hours later. I'm not sure how much this matters. Even if I still lived in Ohio, I could still pick her up at any airport in the USA at my convenience.

Hello sage1. Congratulations again to the both of you.

Its best to just call the embassy and verify about this particular case, just my opinion though.

If it were me,,, I would just use the visa as is... There should be nothing to cause concern at the POE... If they ask just be honest,,, you filed the address change. But, I doubt they will even ask. The airline did not give my wife boarding passes to the final destination... Only part way... And I had her fly into an airport that was 900 miles away from our home address... They never questioned it.

My thoughts are... 1. Your fiancee would have to go back to Manila... 2. Not sure they would change the VISA address based upon her statement... 3. May cause a delay...

Good Luck,

address won't make any problem, at this stage.

No One is sending her any documents to your address (old or new).

The NEXT THING, address-related, for you two will be the SSN application, then the AOS package itself, after marriage.

For Now, it's NOT an issue.

For Future, just use the 'current address' !!

thanks guys for ur inputs...we're just really worried about it to encounter the worst case in POE that they will deport me because of this wrong state of my fiancee under annotation in my visa info.

If we'll call the embassy they might cause more delay and the NOA2 expiration date is fast approaching..gotta fly soon. Here it comes again...WORRIES

If you have a visa stamp in a passport - the NOA2 expiration date is meaningless.

I seem to remember - you can GIVE the CBP officer the new address at the POE. I still think is not any issue.

Hey sage1 :P

Because I got so concerned about this issue, I voluntarily asked the nun holding the seminar about your concern since the topic was about the possible issues that may arise during arrival.

She said its better safe than sorry. I don't know if that was an accurate answer but she added it's best to call the embassy and inform them about this tiny revision. Possible outcome would be: 1) Jakriss will just have to inform the immigration officer upon her arrival at the POE about your change of address and they will just note it in their file 2) Worse case (which I think is not possible) Jakriss' visa will be sent back for corrections.

To me, the nuns are not credible enough to make these intuitions since they are just tasked to handle the seminars but I just want to share what she said. Anyway, the final decision lies in your hands. Still I personally believe, this won't be an issue.

Regards to the both of you.

Hey GuardianAngel! :innocent:

WOW! Much thanks to you for bringing up our concern during your seminar. Anyway, My fiance (Sage1) already called at the embassy i think early last week after we found out the error on my visa. Gladly, the embassy told him not to worry much about it and that my visa is not anymore needed to be sent back to them for it doesn't need any correction. So, shortly they say that i will just inform the CBP Officer in my POE about his new address. Hopefully i won't gonna get any trouble in Chicago who happens to be my POE. THANKS MUCH FOR BEING SO THOUGHTFUL GuardianAngel... :) Best wishes for both of u guardians..
