I like to know who I'm talking to.

You're the king of streering topics off course J-Rome.

I think you take the cake on this topic being thrown off course. I just comment on statements that I feel are directed toward me, or what I have posted.

Now back to topic or we can continue to bicker back and forth until the topic gets locked or Charles threatens suspensions for TOS violations

The morale of the post is that people stay in many different places, with Vietnamese nationals, or in hotel rooms alone. Times have changed and along with time changing people’s morals have also changed. Years ago a Vietnamese girl might never have thought about staying with her BF in a hotel room, but as with other cultures it is becoming more and more normal to do so. On the side track note about relationships built to last, not having physical relations right away is also no guarantee that your relationship will last, or that there is not any visa fraud happening with your relationship. I think I'll take a suspension before I will let you tell me when to stop.

This was a dead issue until you decided to start it up again this morning. I love how you'll say what you have to say and then determine that it's time to get back on topic. Everything has to meet your approval here, right Jerome?

I'm right here :)

Since my return from Vietnam a couple of weeks ago, I have been so busy putting the finishing touches on my I-129F that I barely have time to do much of anything nowadays hehe.

Anyways the trips to Vietnam went very well. I was never in any danger while I was there so I am officially finished being afraid to go there :)

Glad to hear you made it OK. I can't imagine flying back and forth that many times in such a short period. I imagine you're tired.

Good luck.

i've not posted in this thread until now, so your statement was a bit premature.

welcome to my world... The CO actually asked Thuy why I was coming and going in such a short period of time and not just staying a month to lecture on different dates in different cities.... They had no concept of the fact that I have a life here in The US also... 2 trips in less than a month that time... and then back there again not too long after that... jet lag sucks.. at least I only get it coming back to the states.

Scott,

Before I went to Singapore last year I was really worried about jet lag since it was my first time flying to that part of the world. What I did was get my sleeping pattern off cycle the day before I left. This way I was able to stay awake for most of the flight and then fall asleep around midnight when I arrived in Singapore. I also had very little jet lag problems when I went to Vietnam when I tried this. I don't know. I guess my body is just weird heheh.

I've never had a problem with jet lag flying to the Vietnam. When I get there I have a shower, a good dinner, and a good night's sleep. The next morning I'm fresh and ready to go, fully adjusted to the new time zone.

Coming back is a killer, though. I'm exhausted for about a week.

I think it has to do with which direction you're traveling relative to the rotation of the earth. Traveling west accelerates time - a 13 hour flight picks up 29 hours. Traveling east stretches time - a 12 hour flight actually loses a couple of hours. It's really weird to spend that much time in a plane and arrive the same afternoon you left.

Spot on with ya Jim... no worries when I get there... but whenI return its a minimum of 3 days... totally out of commission... I have yet to find a way to avoid it.. I minimize it by trying to sleep as much as possible when on the flights back... I used to not be able to sleep on a flight at all... not an option anymore... Drinking alot of water on the return flight helps me also...

I've stated this so many times and people just think I'm crazy! :P I've flown both ways east to west and west to east and have felt the difference! :)

Post violating TOS has been removed. It is not acceptable to 'quote' another member then rewrite that quote to contain potentially inflammatory statements as if they were part of the original post and to change the meaning of the quoted material. Two TOS were violated in this case:

Impersonate another person or entity, or falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is Posted.

and

Make comments in a Post either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users.

I felt very similar to Jim. I had almost no problems getting adjusted to the time difference when I arrived in Vietnam but when I returned home, it took me over a week to get adjusted. That really sucks. But I guess that is what we have to put up with for flying half-way around the world :)
