Tax Return documents for AOS

I am putting together the AOS package and one of the Items needed is the most recent tax return. I do all of my taxed electronically via Turbo Tax. Can I get a copy of the return from the website and send it or I need a transcript from the IRS? The reason I ask is that it will take me between 7-12 days to receive the transcripts.

My husband filed the same way and he had to go through the IRS to get it. It actually took about 5 business days to get it since you can print out the form on the IRS website and fax it to them it goes a lot quicker.

The transcripts are the better document to send. Didn't you save a copy of your IRS filing?

Well, I haven't filed the 2009 return yet since I am waiting for my wife's SSn. I do have the 2008 transcripts though, should I just send that?

Yes, just send it.

You can get transcripts faxed to you, and they do it usually next day or within 48 hours. It's a lot faster this way. When you call to order them, just ask if they can fax it.
