Hi

Do we have a fact sheet on this? I want to know what level of pissyness is deemed tolerable and what crosses the lines that results in a mod closing a thread due to 'insults' or whatever it is they use as their denominator.

Thanks.

Hahaha, I see, it's all in the eyes of the beholder. Oh well, looks like threads will close randomly depending on who happens to drive by and read them. Ho hum.

There are a few that seems to be like the class clowns of off-topic. It's like we always seem to be fighting with the clowns instead of ignoring them.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

How else?

Unless you believe VJ has (or even should have) a moderation structure in which every post within every thread is read shortly after being written, how else?

As for levels of pissyness... isn't that by its very nature subjective? If you're capable of creating a framework that allows for quantification of pissyness coefficients, moderators all over the interwebz will thank you. Go for it.

This whole silly notion that the TOS applies "more loosely" in OT than the rest of the site is the heart of the problem.

Either OT needs to be held to the TOS, or a TOS needs to be written for OT. It's unfair to members and moderators to leave it in such a state of uncertainty.

Russian roulette, I like that

Yes A.J, I realise that it is subjective, hence why some threads are closed when others remain unsullied by moderation despite very similar behaviours occurring. Naturally, the moderators themselves have steered clear of this topic because if they did draw a line in the sand, well, people might just try to hold them to it ;)
