I think it should be carried into the interview along with proof of relationship, but I just want to check this out before we mail Packet 3. What do people have to say about this?

That surely wont hurt.

Proof of relationship documents are just emails & chats that we sent in with packet3 return.

The time covered was from the I-129F filing, up to and beyond NOA2. The proof of relationship

sent in with the I-129F covered around 6 years up to that time. Naturally anything sent in

with packet3 as a copy should be carried in hand by the interviewee, as protection against

anything being "misplaced" by the consulate. The letter of intent to marry should be an

original with signatures sent in with packet3 and also a signed original should be carried

to the interview, just for insurance.

It says on Packet 3 instructions that it is not necessary to send in proof of relationship or the medical exam with Packet 3. It says to carry these things to the interview. On another thread, several people advised me not to deviate from these instructions. So I assumed that the recent letter of intent should be included in the proof of relationship materials and carried to the interview.

That was my understanding as well. I can't imagine sending all of the proof of relationship in with packet 3 anyway. That would be quite a large mailing!

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

For us it wasn't that large, just an update of 2+ months since the I-129F filing.

No big deal.

No duplication of the proof submitted with I-129F.

She got the visa in record time.

Results may vary.
