Our green card interview was on 5th Jan 2010, the officer was a black lady, she demanded few documents and asked few questions.

Then she gave us a document which shows what other documents we need to send to USCIS through Post office. As per document they need

My W2 for the year 2008. We still provided few more documents to prove our marriage as she didn’t seem convinced at the first place but demanded only W2.

We collected documents, arranged in a proper manner with an explanation of each additional document and posted it on Saturday 9th Jan through a priority mail.

We kept checking online status on USPS website but it wasn’t showing the delivery. I called the post office on 19th Jan (Tuesday) to verify it and officer said USCIS in Fairfax has their own zip code and also only picks up their mail on Mondays but this being MLK weekend and no delivery was available Monday so they would most likely be doing a Tuesday pick-up , according to the man I spoke with at the USPS on Tuesday 19 in the afternoon, he personally checked the package with our documents were still at the post office that afternoon but said that once the package was picked up the system would update with a delivery confirmation.

So we checked the online status on Wednesday 20th Jan morning and the status was changed to "Your document is delivered on 19th Jan, Tuesday, at 6.46 AM.

Now I am confused that if that officer saw the package in the post office on 19th Jan afternoon then how status can be "Delivered on 19th Jan at 6.46 AM "

We called him again and he said, document is definitely delivered and no need to worry and you can print the online receipt as a proof.

I am worrying about the delivery and there is no way to cross verify it with USCIS. If USCIS has not received the package then they will close the case saying required documents have not received. Our last date of submission is 16th Feb. 2010.

Has anybody faced such kind of problem?

Can anybody give some solution or suggestion?

From the postal service's perspective, it WAS delivered the morning of the 19th - to the USCIS postofficebox. They just hadn't picked it up. I favor express mail to a street address. Only costs a few bucks extra but it gets into USCIS hands with proof of delivery.
