Hi,

I recently e-filed an I-90 to change my last name ( due to marriage) in my green card.

However, I am confused by the process, I got an email asking me to send the initial evidence and supporting documents.

I have heard from a friend that I can bring these documents at ASC or Biometrics. I am still waiting for my biometric schedule.

Should I go ahead and mail the supporting documents ?

Do I have to send all originals ( marriage certificate, GC.... ) ??

Here is the email I got:

Dear USCIS e-Filing I-90 Applicant,

Our records show that you recently submitted to USCIS a form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, using the USCIS e-Filing System. USCIS has recently changed its process for the submission of I-90 supporting documentation.

In order to follow the most recent USCIS process, please mail all initial evidence and supporting documentation for your I-90 application to the following address:

National Benefits Center

Attn: E-filed I-90 Application

P O Box 648012

Lee's Summit, MO 64002

If you have not done so already, please submit all supporting documentation as soon as possible to prevent delays in processing your application. Attach a copy of your e-Filing I-90 Confirmation Receipt as a cover page for the supporting documentation you are submitting.

Please note that this change in process only affects your e-Filed I-90 application. If you have any other applications or petitions submitted to USCIS, please follow the instructions specific to the application or petition. These instructions are also available on the USCIS website, located at http : // www dot uscis dot gov (select "Electronic Filing", then "Form-Specific E-Filing Instructions", and then select the applicable form).

Thank you,

e-Filing Support Team

Submit your supporting documents (photocopies) to the address listed above, you obviously are not following instructions or reading about E-filing the I-90 (submission of supporting documents).

No thanks but I have read and understood every single word in the instruction. It's just that I have read and heard some different versions on doing this. I would not have posted this issue if I dont want to clear things up. And I dont need your answer because obviously, you havent understood my question well.

USCIS has recently changed its process for the submission of I-90 supporting documentation. - trumps everything else you have read, everything else you have 'been told'.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Just found out that the email I got is an automatically generated email for all e-filers and since I just got my ASC, I am NOT mailing anything.

I'm bringing all supporting documents to the local field office when I get my biometrics done. Get all that info done directly and pronto instead of being stacked on a desk.

So much for listening too much, and the people from the USCIS hotline doesnt know any better. I am going to have to trust my instincts on this ( which is seldom wrong ). Thank you all.

Duh!! of course I understand your question. It's like when you take a test and you don't follow their instructions what is written then you will fail the test. You asked a question here online/advice, of course people who have that experienced give you advice/answers. Don't bother asking next time if you are only one-sided person who cannot accept what you don't want to read. Geezzzz....And moreso, one case does not apply to everybody because it depends on who process your I-90 on USCIS some are strict on requiring documents to be submitted, while others are not..You should bear that on your mind, instead of being narrow minded.

There's nothing to lose anyway if you submit supporting documents to USCIS.
