Will there be any problems at customs?

Hi there! I am going over to the US next month on a 12 month Q1 work Visa, my fiance is an American (I'm British) and I spent a lot of time there last year, a friend of mine who frequently travels to the US on business told me I should be prepared, I didn't realise... So I checked out this forum for advice. Last year I spent roughly 6 months in America, 3 of those I was on a J1 work Visa, (Jan-April) then I came over in the summer for a month to be with my fiance, then again in October - December for 2 1/2 months, both times on a visa waiver. So I'm a little concerned I might be subject to questioning about this at customs? After my 12 month Visa runs out we are planning to get married and want to move to London (It's a civil union, so I wouldn't be able to live in the US even if I wanted to.)

I'm basically wondering if there will be any problems... I would think there is more of a concern if I was going over on another Visa waiver, however this is an issued work Visa, so I'm hoping it will be ok? Should I bring proof of our plans to move to London afterwards, etc (Not sure what kind of proof I could bring for this though.) Thanks for any help! :)

As with any entry into the US via a visa(vwp), it is up to CBP to determine if they let you in.

You should always show strong ties to return to your home country, be honest with answers, and you should have no issues.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
