I thought I would tell a little more in detail about Bijad’s experience, maybe it could help someone…

First a Moroccan woman called Bijad up to the window and asked for his forms, the translated papers and the visa fee. She said something about his “wife” and he immediately corrected her and said she is still only my fiancée.

About 10 minutes later an American man called him up to the window and asked him to write my name and his name on it and took his fingerprints.

He asked Bijad, where is Missouri located on the map? (The man said that you wouldn’t guess how many people don’t actually know where they are going. Ha!)

Describe your fiancée.

He asked for pictures of our engagement party.

While looking at our pictures the interviewer said, “Wow, your fiancée has wonderful blue eyes.” HAHA!!

He asked Bijad to tell him something about my past.

How did you meet her?

Why didn’t you marry a Moroccan girl?

The interviewer asked about some of the people in our pictures.

Asked about Bijad’s job.

Where did we spend time together?

How can you be sure about your love to her?

What do you have in common?

Then the interviewer said, “Everything is ok and your application will take some regular procedures.”

Waiting the night of the interview was a HUGE heartache. I am so glad that the interview is done and over with but now waiting out AP is hard too; not having any kind of time frame… 1 week? 1 month? 6 months?! AH!! :D

That sounds like a good interview experience for Casablanca. Good luck and I hope you hear some good news very soon.

Do you see how big the sea is?

Do you see how big the sea is? My love for you is as big as the sea.

Do you see how far the sky is? My love for you is as far as the sky.

As big as the sea and as far as the sky I love you,

I waited for you, I called upon you, I drew you on the promenades,

You sorrow of my life, you tears of the flowers, you season of the birds,

How vast the forest is, my heart is as vast as the forest.

You who are drawn on my door, and drawn in my heart,

I waited for you a year, and throughout the year I would ask the walnut trees,

and I would see you in the sunny days, coming from the sunny days, and lost in the almond leaves,

How small is a tear, and I am just a tear in your way,

I want to vow a candle so that you would let me love you.

I think you should expect two months AP, just so you're not disappointed. I think that's very typical. That's how long we had. But to be honest, I think he'll get his visa before then, because they kept his passport. They didn't keep my husband's (then fiance), and we waited two months. but i know of other people who had shorter aps, and their passports were kept.

Congrats and good luck! You'll be amazed when it's finally over. Ahmed has been here for four months. It basically took 7 months from I129 filing to visa, and then we awaited two months for him to come, and now it's been jsut a little over a year since it all began and it seems like it went so fast!!

She said something about his “wife” and he immediately corrected her and said she is still only my fiancée.

I was interested when it seems like they tried to trick your fiance into agreeing you are married and are his wife. He might not have understood or heard her well and not corrected her.

I will tell my fiancee about this. To listen very carefully for words wife or husband and make sure they know we are only fiances.

Thank you for that. And congratulations and Best wishes on your new life ahead.
