interview went great. waiting to recieve visa from the mail system. started looking at prices for airplane tickets. wow really expensive right now. My question is are there any specific requirements when buying her a ticket. I am sure it has to be a round trip ticket. However I have a friend who can get me a stand bye round trip ticket. Can i do that or does it have to be a regular ticket. If it has to be a regular round trip ticket, who checks, immigration when she lands in the states. wow i am so happy. can't wait till she has the visa in the mail.

Not certain , just wanted to say congrats! I usually check orbitz etc and compare if they are lower than the actual airline, try calling the airline and see if the can compete pricewise. Best of luck and again congrats!!!

Why would you need a round trip ticket? Your Fiance is coming to get married and immigrate, correct? Their is no requirement for a round trip ticket or any "specified" value for a ticket. You could use airline mileage/points to acquire a freebie...or that stand-by ticket you mentioned, totally up to you.

Good luck.

I am not sure that your co-worker has the facts straight. You do not need a R/T ticket on a K-1 visa.

tickets with returns within a month is even cheaper than 1way ticket :star:

I just bought an one-way ticket for just a bit more than half the price of a return ticket :)

I have used the website Best Travel Store and I have been happy with the prices. Flying to Nigeria is not cheap, I put in different dates and months to see what is the cheapest.

My husband came on a K-1...did a one way ticket. Round trip tix are sometimes cheaper, sometimes not. Depends on who you book with and when you book it. Best wishes!
