Hello everyone! OK, so I am from Moldova and all Moldovans have to have their interviews for K-1 in Romania. I have a question about vaccinations that will be required during medical exam in Bucharest, Romania. As I understand I will have to go through medical exam in Bucharest the day before my interview day for K-1 in Romania…I looked at the list of required vaccinations on the internet..the list is pretty big I must say..so, what am I to expect? Are you supposed to get all those in one day?? As far as I remember, I had some vaccinations in school and I always had a bad reaction from vaccinations and I know I am very sensitive to vaccinations..I don’t want to feel like ####### (sorry lol) on the following day when I have my interview lol Do they just give you all of those in one day???

Also, I know that you need to collect your vaccination records from your family doctor before you go for your medical exam in Romania..I only know that I had vaccinations during school times, you know (like every kid here)…Does that mean that I will most likely be required to have almost all the vaccinations from that list?? OMG! Can someone who has already been through this share their experiences (esp. those from Romania or Moldova)? THANKS SO MUCH, FRIENDS! I greatly appreciate your help!

If you can prove you've already had many of the vaccinations that are required, then just bring proof of that from your regular doctor. I'd also suggest having your doctor do whichever ones you would need - would probably spare you the cost of having the visa medical doctor do it for you. Follow your doctor's directions about when to get them - maybe you'd be able to space them out over time if you do react badly to them. I'd go now and start getting it sorted out.

Some vaccines can be given at the same day but there will be others that are contraindicated due to interaction with other vaccines.

If I am not mistaken you do not need your vacinations to be done before your interview. (I know I did not) so they can be done once you get to the US too. Start getting them done as soon as possible though and remember it might be more expensive to get the done in the US.

No you dont. But its best to get as much required vaccines done before the medical... I reckon it'll be cheaper that way.

Exactly - it is not a requirement to have them done before hand, but it's often cheaper to have them done prior. I think some folks who have waited until AOS have found that medical insurance companies here don't always cover the ones you'll need, so then you've got to pay a civil surgeon here to do them (also not cheap). I think it just saves you $ in the long run to get them done before the visa medical.

First of all calm down,i know you are pretty stressed out , i was same as you are but let me tell you that you wont need all the vaccination you have seen online, they are general requirements because everything depends on your age, health history and stuff, i took my vaccination list from the family doctor and i was thinking i was going to need a bunch of vaccinations, but i only need it the HPV vaccine and that was it..Usually moldovans have all the vaccinations the visa requires and you shouldnt worry, im gonna look for my vaccination list and let you know what you need, how old are by the way?

K-1 has no vaccination requirement.... The vaccination requirement is for immigrant visas or greencards. Bucharest may not even care about vaccinations.. Kiev doesn't...

HPV I think was removed last month from the "list"

YMMV

hi!

I had my exam at ''Centrul medical Unirea''. Everyone was so great. The doctor didn't gave my any vaccination because she sad that here in the Us is cheaper. Before I filled for Adjustment of status (after the marriage) I had to have one more exam here in the Us. They done blood work and I had my vaccines (HPv,Tetanus and measles).

Relax, I know how do you feel.

If you need more info about anything send me a message.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I just checked on the web-site, it really says HPV is no longer required from Dec.14, 2009..Awesome!

As for "bucharest may not care, kiev doesn't" - I thought you have to have at least the first vaccinations at the medical exam in bucharest (I mean at least to have started) and you are expected to follow-up in the US...??? I read this on other forums, now I'm confused...

A K-1 does NOT have any vaccination requirements... the requirements are for the greencard. You may choose and are encouraged to get the greencard vaccinations done/updated before arriving in the USA (mainly because of cost), but the K-1 does not require this. Some consulates (such as Canada & UK) do require updated vaccinations before they will issue the K-1 visa. This is the consulates requirement and not the actual requirement of the visa. Kiev does NOT require vaccinations be complete for a K-1 like London does, Bucharest may be the same....

YMMV

Thanks again, I see now..I guess what I read about some requirement for vaccinations to be started before your interview was just specific for some consulate...Thank you!
