Getting med records from Canadian retired family doctor

Hi,

My wifes CR1 case was completed in early December, so I'm anticipating a interview date anywhere between April-June.

It's now almost Feb 1st. What should we be doing to prepare for her medical?

And How much does it cost?

Also, her family doctor from when she was a kid, when she got her vaccines is now retired. When that happens, do the doctors give all the records to some public record system so we can access these from say any clinic, or no. What do we have to do in that case?

Thanks.

I-130 Received: 5-11-2009

I-130 Approved: 8-28-2009

Checklist on my DS230 and 864; Called, under review for checklist corrections (small delay) - Oct and Nov

Received Interview Date: 1/22/10

Interview: 3/3/10: APPROVED! WHOO-HOOO

Where does she live and how old is she - those two questions need to be answered to address the records system. They differ by province. (we don't need to know her actual age - an age range would be fine).

The price will depend on where she is having her medical.

She'll be 26, St. Catharines, Ontario. I'm "assuming" We'd go to Toronto.

St Catherines is in the Niagara region so I would suggest trying the Niagara public health department there. I didn't have my childhood records and I contacted the health clinic in my region and they mailed me my childhood vaccination record in less then a week. It also shows all the childhood immunizations I had in school. If she has no record of or hasn't had a booster in the last 10 years then she'll need to get that.

Alternatively she could have the titre tests done which would indicate her immunity status. That's what I did and just took the copies of the lab results to the medical which were sufficient.
