My conditional green card is about to expire in April, 2010, and me and my husband are preparing documents for filing I-751. We have one question on name inconsistance:

In brief, in the very beginning, I thought of changing my name after marriage, thus used the will-be new name on our marriage certificate, title of our jointly-owned real estate and utility bills. Then I run into some trouble changing my name with local social security office( I was told that I will have to wait for my H1B1, which was in transfer-process since I just changed my company), I then totally changed my mind and decided to keep my own family name.

Thus my dilemma: On most of my documents, they bear my never-happened new name, and in reality and some of my other documents, it is my real original name. Will this cause me trouble for my I-751 application?

Our marrigage is sound and healthy, by the way.

Thanks.

Use your legal name in filing the I-751. There is a spot on the form to list other names used.
