Interview at Chennai,India

NVC said my case is completed on 01/19/2010. Does any body know how long it takes to schedule an interview at chennai, india. Please share your experiences.

hey all..

my case is completed on 01/21/10.

i just talked to an operator and he told me that there are no available appoinments date for February in Chennai and they will be email us when they will schedule an interview for us in march.Usually next interview scheduling is on the second week of the month.Now lets wait for the interview date..

you should receive it soon. i got first letter Jan 25, and then another Feb 1. you might have gotten it today or else monday. call nvc and check also no harm in doing that.

Thank you.... When you say letter, do you mean one via email and the other via postal mail? Saw your signature, it shows interview date as March 2nd... Congrats!! I guess I'll get an interview date sometime mid to late March since you had your case complete exactly 15 days before mine...

No everything was via email. I got my first one in January itself and then second one on Feb 2 which was dated Feb1 2009. I dont know why i got two but it had same interview date and information. Just waiting for the interview really. I am 99% sure you will get your interview in March itself. but keep calling them.

I got my Interview scheduled on March2nd @chennai

medical appointment is for tomorrow.

Can anyone please tell me if any documents(medical reports or Ds-230 or any) must be sent to the consulate prior to the CR-1 Interview??How much fee must be paid @VFS before the Interview?

VFS fees Rs.397 for courier.

As far as I understand, the medical report and the DS230 has to be submitted to VFS.

I thought that DS230 form, courier fee and medical report needs to be taken at the time of interview. I am still not sure, if I have to submit these docs to VFS or take it to the interview. If it has to submitted to VFS how many days prior to the interview do we need to submit?

I believe it has to be submitted to VFS at least 10 days before the interview date. They will forward it to the consulate.

I'm still unclear on the VFS stuff so I would hold on till someone else replies.

I am also unclear but what the consulate told me in an email was that any docs not submitted to NVC need to submitted to VFS. Since i submitted everything, i am having my wife carry the medical reports and other supporting evidence pics,wedding invite, phone records, latest w2 etc just for additional supporting docs. I think everything should go well and it will be positive on mar2. am i being over confident?

That is what i told my wife. I suppose you might actually meet my wife on that day. How much before the interview you plan to go there? I got a really good hotel just right across the consulate just a minute walk.
