Accidental in the sense of being a one-off "lesser candidate", i.e. an accident.

Two's a coincidence, three's a pattern - and the pattern is "voting for the other team",

regardless of the candidate.

I think you're reading far too much into things.

Of course.

Tea parties = nutters/racists/etc

Democrats lost in New Jersey = accident

Democrats lost in Virginia = coincidence, nothing to worry about

Democrats lost in Massachusetts = blame the youths

Who's grasping?

Yup. Liberal Democrats voted for Brown.

Democrats out-number Republicans 3 to 1 in Mass.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

You still haven't even looked at the OP have you?

The number of people registered as democrats doesn't mean anything if they don't actually show up to vote.

I guess we'll find out on Nov 2.

I think the race for Boxer's senate seat will be a good indication of whether this really is as you see it. The race i'm watching closely is the republican primary for the governor's race in Texas.

Special elections always have crappy turnout. You can win by just getting your supporters out to vote.

November will be more telling. 3 Democratic senators and 6 Republican senators are retiring leaving quite a few of them open.

i have always found it funny when dems, who are in trouble of losing an election, start talking about getting the word out on campus. it strikes me as meaning, "let's go to campus, those idiots will vote for anyone" (or however you want to phrase it). it seems demeaning to me.

They go to campus and depend on youth's brains full of mush because campuses are hotbeds of liberalism, as their professors are old hippies still plotting the socilaist revolution. However, the youth are too busy pursuing iphones, concert tickets, and other material goods to care all that much about elections.
