Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that I am now in Illinois without any problems ...

:dance::dance::dance:

My POE was Vancouver airport and it was very simple ... When I was checking in at United Airlines the customer service agent was surprised that I wanted to go in 3 hours before my flight departed ... I mentioned to him that I was travelling on a K-1 Visa and wanted to give ample time for the process ... He said that I was smart as many people don't arrive early enough ... He asked me if I needed to fill out an I-94 and I said that I did so he handed me one ... It was nice to get this at check in time as I was able to have it ready when I got to the customs officer ...

When I got up to the window I told the Officer that I wanted to activate my K-1 Visa ... He took my finger print on the little machine for both of my index fingers and then took a picture and instructed me to go into the secondary screening room ...

When I went in the secondary screening room there were like 6 families or so in there waiting and I thought to myself that I was going to be there a loooong time ... But within 5 minutes another customs officer called my name up (before the other people in the room) which surprised me ... She opened the famous sealed brown envelope and went through the file ... Asked if we were married yet (I am guessing this was a trick question :) ) ... I told her we were getting married August 5 ... She then told me that there was still time to back out ROFL .... She told me that everything was fine and directed me in the direction out to security ...

Anyways, I was actually through customs and security in about 30 minutes ... I did fly on a Tuesday and checked in at late morning at 10:30am so the line ups were rather short ....

08-24-06 - AOS/EAD mail to Chicago (Day 1)
11-06-06 - GC & Welcome Letter arrive in Mail (Day 75)

I-751
09-23-08 - Sent Package via USPS (Day 1)
01-02-09 - Received GC in mail (with wrong Resident Since date) (Day 101)
