Just to let you know, I have two 1250 ATX power supply mounted inside the HAF 932. Heck, I need 600 watts for the motherboard, 600 watts for Quad GPU, 100 watts for the TEC cooler (V10), and 200 watts for the Tesla. But, that's for full load. If I'm not doing anything, it doesn't consume that much.

One cool thing for being on the cutting edge is that when something new comes out, you don't full price for it because you sell the old stuff to the mainstream users. Sometimes I sell parts for 25% less than I bought it. Then, I buy a new part. It does pay well if you're willing to invest.

I do it as soon as new tech comes out. Intel doesn't take down the prices of the already released cpu instantly, I do it before they do. The ram is good. The mobo was just replaced with my Gigabyte one I had a few months ago.

I do it very often so I won't spend too much buying parts to do rebuild or to fall behind in technology. Heck, everything that I replaced are sold up to 50% of its original prices. The mainstream group will definitely buy it for those prices. Essentially, I'm savining on high end parts.

How long have you been running your current set up? Or do you upgrade components frequently?

For ram I have 2x (12 gb triple channel (3x4)) Mushkin Enhanced Memory....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820226100

Newegg has it for 800, I got a set for a little over 800 so make it 1600+ dollars just for memory.

For power supply I use two Cooler Master Power Pro 1250 watts, 80+ Certified...don't know which one silver, gold, bronze...who cares

There's a procedure to connect two power supply together so when you turn one on, the other will turn on as well. You need to buy a 4 pin relay switch from radio shack.

What are you using the Tesla for? Do you have specific any apps that were re-coded for it?

Windows Server 2008 R2 supports SMP. It divides multiple cores depending on their availability.

The difficulty for a majority of programmers is having to code unique software for parrallel processing, however, the TESLA uses highly configurable CUDA API which would make it quicker to develop code for it. There are many apps that can be ported over using CUDA. Afterall, CUDA is used in nVidia PhyX and their later models video card.

Double precision operations would provide me with better tools when I'm doing electromagnetic analysis using COMSOL Physics.
