I'm a college student so I'm going to have my dad be my fiancee's cosponsor. I'll just have him fill out a separate form and include everything he needs. But I want to make sure cause I've seen a lot of stuff on the site that confuses me.

Do we need tax returns and W2s? Because in the instructions for the form there's nothing written about those being need.

The instructions say we need a statement from the bank and from our employer. So from the instructions it seems like we just need the form and those 2 letters. But after reading people's posts, it seems like we need much more. So which is it?

My dad isn't self employed and neither am I.

Depends on the embassy your filing it with. Check with them first. (Ankara requires transcripts with the I-134)

Some require transcripts (or 1040/w-2) - some go with what the instructions state. I would recommend you send the transcripts (front loading is nice)

You will only need a bank statement if your trying to use assets to cover the income level needed - so if your not - you do not need that.

I sent my transcripts and a letter from my employer - no issues...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Brother Bobby is right on the mark. Check with others going/gone through the same embassy/consulate to learn what is expected.
