Should We Send the Consulate an Updated Bank Statement?

Hello everyone,

I had my interview on December 13th. The embassy requested that my fiance sends two documents (one of them is a bank statement) which he did on Dec 17th and the embassy received on Dec 20th. However, my fiance's bank account is a new one and the bank statement didn't show much activity. Should he send an updated bank statement that shows more activity on the bank account, even though we weren't asked to do that? Will that help getting done with our case faster, or is it going to raise a red flag in any way?

Thanks in advance!

Aya and John

Aya,

I wouldn't do that unless they request additional information. Good luck to you. I hope they call you for your visa really soon!

I agree with INGT and Dis that there is no reason to send it unless they request it. Good wishes being sent your way for a speedy visa in hand!!

Thank you ladies and Disconnection!

We kind of agree with the same opinion.. But we're hoping the embassy sees the updates of John's bank account.. They can get any info they want from his bank any time, right?

i don't think so aya. banks are not allowed to release that sort of information to anyone who is not a signer on the account unless they have a specific release from the owner of the bank account. just because they are in possession of his past bank statements does not mean they can or have the right to access current information.

Thanks for the answer, Sandinista!

We would really like it if they check the updates some way or another... I guess there might be a possibility since our wait seems will last longer anyway!

P.S: Your Ayah is such a cutie! God bless her! (F)
